I do hope you stick with it; it's definitely worth it! Beautiful work! This is one you'll be so proud of when it's finished, so I hope you'll post a picture of the finished quilt.

Rest for a few days and get back to it. You will be proud when it is finished. Very pretty!

But then, you could always mail it to me, I'd take VERY good care of it and finish it with joy... (just kidding... ) |
It took me 4 years to finish a King sized, Winner's Circle quilt that I started for my husband. It is beautiful and so I guess it is worth waiting for. I even planned it out to do just one block a day...then one block a week....then nothing for 3.5 years. So, waiting a while is sometimes not so bad. I think your start is gorgeous. Keep working it.

I just finished a ufo that I had hanging around for 4 years. I had it almost done, and was so tired of the fabric and the process, I just had to drop it! It sat in a basket for all this time, and I decided this was the year to finish this quilt. It was a quilt as you go. I didn't like that process, so I made it as simple as possible, put it together and have a gorgeous finished quilt. I had to decide that I needed to finish this and..'be happy in the moment'. How would I feel if I gave it away, it got burned up in a fire after all the hard work I had already done on the quilt, or, if it accidentally got thrown away. I would be devastated that it was all for nothing.
This is a beautiful work of art...YOUR work of art, take time to enjoy the moments it takes to finish this, and you will be so proud of yourself when it is completed. No matter what the sashing, or corner stones, you will LOVE your finished quilt. Give it a place of honor in your home as it was the terrible step-child for a while, but now it is the most precious child you love. Your hard work! |
Your blocks are beautiful, sometimes I feel like you do when I get halfway through a project, the newness has worn off and I want to move on to something new and exciting. Maybe if you set this aside for a while you'll feel more affection for it when you come back. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I am loving that and I'm not a fan of civil war prints but you did a fabulous job of choosing. That is beautiful...Hope you continue on and finish it.

You did a super great job on these blocks. They are beautiful. And it happens to the best of us. Starting a quilt top and then getting burnt out of working on it.
