Oma66 when I read your "it's like a thorn in my side" I thought "yes, that's exactly how I feel right now with the _____ing quilt I'm making". I can relate so well to how you're feeling. The one I'm working on right now is driving me wild, more so than anything else I've ever done. I never want to make and use another template or sew another y-seam, EVER. So you have company, if that makes you feel any better.
I think your quilt is just great. It really is so nice. There is alot of work there with the sashings etc. so maybe as others have said you just need a wee break.... I'm off to read for awhile, hoping that is going to calm my nerves. In regards to your sashings, I'm not sure what you mean by breaking them up with another fabric. Do you mean putting another thin sashing between the two sashings? Heavens! |

What beautiful blocks! Keep at it, you're doing a terrific job and you're almost done!

Looks great...but I would keep going...don't have it go from a "thorn in your side" to a UFO nagging "in the back of your mind". You will love it when it's done...so hang in there.

My thought is to stripe the sashing - the camel color with a narrow stripe of black in the middle. I want it to cover a queen size bed. I will add a narrow border and a wider border to the outside - using two of the fabric in the blocks.
Have you ever worked on a quilt that you just felt you did not want to finish ...but did anyway? I am finishing the quilt, but without joy. Help!! It is beautiful hate to see all that hard work go to waste. Put it up for a little while and take a break from it. Then you will probably get motivated to work on it again. If not send it my way I'd love to have it. lol! |
It is very pretty so far. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful quilt. I know what you mean about working on something without the joy, I have a UFO like that. So....like some others said, I put it up for awhile and hope one day, I'll look at it and say, enough, I'm going to finish you! LOL! Hopefully that will happen!
I really do like your blocks and can't wait to see the finished quilt. |
I just don't think that you realize what a beautiful thing you are making. Take a short break, and then get back to your pretty creation!
