The answer to your question is FREQUENTLY. That is why I have 6/7 quilts going now.
What to do, what to do.

It is beautiful so far - don't give up on it.

Oh my gosh, you gotta finish it, it is going to be so pretty..can't wait to see it!

It is beautiful!
Put is aside for awhile.
Do something smaller then go back to it when it feels good.

My thought is to stripe the sashing - the camel color with a narrow stripe of black in the middle. I want it to cover a queen size bed. I will add a narrow border and a wider border to the outside - using two of the fabric in the blocks.

Have you ever worked on a quilt that you just felt you did not want to finish ...but did anyway? I am finishing the quilt, but without joy. Help!!

This happened to me last winter. I hated everything about that quilt but struggled to finish it and when I did I donated it to the local safe house. Some one could get good use out of it , and i never wanted to see it again.
Your blocks are lovely and i think once you finish the top you will be very satisfied.

Yes, I have and it ended up being just a throw and I then went on to a project I enjoyed doing.

If you like what you've done so far, why not just put these blocks together, put on extra borders and use the left over fabric for another project? I think they are wonderful.

I've had projects like that. Usually setting them aside & working on something else helps. I've only had one project that I completely abandoned and trashed; others I've repurposed (like a wall hanging that I made into two totes instead.)

I love the colors--put it down for a while and whip up something quick in between to get your courage up again!
