I love these!! Great job!

I LOVE the Bad Sun Bonnet Sue quilt blocks. My humor is about the same, sort of twisted funny bone we have!!
Saw the first block, wasn't sure what I was seeing, went onto the second block and stopped. All I can say is "TO EACH THEIR OWN. " Your piecing was very good though.
OMG, you're all sick, sick, sick and I love it!!! I thought I was the only one from years back who really could not stand SBS!! This is just too darned funny!!! Thank you all for the big belly laugh!!
This is the funniest thing I've seen in quite awhile. The second Sue is South Park-esque! Love your sense of humor, but seriously, this has taken an enormous amount of creativity and hard work.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING your "twisted" creation! I'm married to a cop--a dark sense of humor LIVES in our house! To some of us, quilts like this (humor like this) are therapy ;)

Sorry, if I offend, but I see no humor in death or torture of a classic quilt icon or any other character or being.
Just voicing my personal opinion, like you said "we are all allowed are own thoughts, feelings, and varying views." I have nothing more to say about this matter! Just wanted to have the chance to voice my feelings, as well as, others have theirs. Being for or against!... Country1 |
These are GREAT!
Love 'em all!!! Wish I could come up with arrows for you!
Those blocks are hilarious, and beautifully executed..pun intended!!!:) Love them!!!!
Oh I'm a Sun Bonnet Sue lover. She's just so cute! So many ways to portray her. I say why not your way! It's clever and creative. You're very talented. Thanks for sharing. :D
These are great! Thought I would wet my pants laughing!
I think this is terrible and I think the administer should take it off. Know wonder the world is in such a bad shape. Quilting in it's history is for positive and not horrible things like this.
I'm with sunbonnet. I don't like them either...made me sad : (

Thanks for the laughs. While I am a living SBS fan - I love these too. Very creative.

I'm not a fan of Sun Bonnet Sue, but these are hilarious. Never heard or seen them before...Cute
This is the first time I've seen the sorrows of Sun Bonnet Sue. Even tho I did appreciate the weirdness of them, I wonder what you'll do with the blocks. Are you going to make a wall hanging or a quilt. I hope not a table runner

I know this is meant as a joke, but it's disturbing.... Can't imagine all that time and talent squandered on such a project.
I have to admit, that even tho my name is Sue, I've not been a huge fan of SBS ... but the poor girl, such a grizzly demise, I wouldn't wish on anyone, LOL.
Hilarious! Oh my goodness! That's great!
Fantastic! I'm not a SBS fan, frankly because I've seen a million of them, so your creative blocks are exactly what I needed. I think I will look at her in a whole different light every time from here on!

I'm with you Jackie, I just made a beautiful Sunbonnet Sue for my little granddaughter and she LOVED it. Why do some people have to try to ruin everything? And of all people quilters? No wonder the world is in such chaos.
What a laugh, thank you for sharing Martina.
These are great! Got me to post on this one! Love them
I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be ruining. People who love SBS can continue to do so and people who appreciate some dark gallows humor or some off-the-beaten-path creativity can do that too. As for spending (wasting?) time and energy - it is mine to spend or waste however I see fit. In case you wonder - my favorite authors are Steven King, Dean Koontz, Neil Gaiman, and Terri Pratchett.
This is a quilt that will eventually hang in my house. Even my Mom thinks it's funny. Lighten up folks! Thanks Chasing Hawk. |

OMG! Those are so funny. Love it!
The blocks are fantastic, I really love your creativity and sense of humour! They are a real work of art and will make an amazing quilt.
I think it's kind of funny myself. Everyone has their opinions about this quilt....but I don't see how it's any different from the old bugs bunny cartoons or tom and jerry cartoons. I grew up on those and haven't turned into a homicidal maniac....it's all in fun and I say whatever gets you through the day is fine by me.
For those of you who are chastising MadQuilter, the title of this thread tells it all. The answer is just not to look at the thread. Everyone has a different sense of humor. Don't scold those of us who have an offbeat sense of humor. To each his own. Don't look if it bothers you.
Not impressed!
I have NEVER liked Sunbonnet Sue and I had never heard of doing this - I LOVE it!!!
OMGoodness! I have never liked Sunbonnet Sue pattern, who would have thought quilting could take such a macabre turn!?? My warped humor admires your awesome creativity! Thank you for my morning giggle!
Where did you get the pattern for these. They are great...lol!!
way too funny-love it!!
I love your depiction of the darker side of SunBonnet Sue! I just attended QuiltCon in Austin, Tx and if profanity can be displayed in a quilt and be called "modern art" and the quilt police do not rip it off the wall, then your beautiful blocks will hang and win awards too! Way to go MadQuilter. I love them, keep em coming!
