I won't be using a pattern just nine patches (I think you call it) I have never taken a class just wing it kind of thing) The one large quilt I made I used 2 1/2 squares and made into log strips. It came out very uneven and now I know why. I try to learn from the ladies here. I know I will never be an expert but I am having fun. I would like to take a class on quilting but I am afraid I will look silly.

That's a great idea about the skirts at GW. I go there to buy sheets and other larger pieces of fabric but didn't think about a large woman's skirt having lots of good cotton fabric. Thanks!

I have two dog and they will be welcome to sleep on this quilt.

You will have fun. I call these my utility quilts. I have made two very scrappy large quilts which I use everyday on my beds. Then if the dogs decide to nap I won't go crazy. The last one I did was the stretched star from the Nickle Quilts book and no square is the same. It is fing size. You will love this project. Have fun.

Should turn out great. Unfortunately for me I have a hard time with scrappy. I have to use paper bags and just sew what I pull out unless it is the same fabric.
