This is really addictive! I started buying men's shirts to make some quilts. I calculated that I needed 20 and wound up with close to 100. I cut all mine into. 5 inch squares. I think cutting them all into a specific size is a great idea. I've made 5 tops so far (posted pictures here last month) . You are really going to have fun! Please post pics of your tops!

I am going to be doing this after Christmas to use up some of my scraps. You are a genius to put that in the dryer to mix them up!!! Thx for the idea!!!

I am so glad everyone seems to like the idea my scrappy quilt. I like the scrappies because they seem more forgiving if you are self taught like me.

I love scrappy and that looks like a great start.

You are quilting the way women traditionally did it... with fabrics salvaged from old clothes. For me it's very satisfying to continue a long tradition like that. Enjoy!

I love scrap quilts as they remind me of the ones my grandmother made, she used to collect her scraps from other church members, and those who sewed. She made me several quilts for myself and my sons using scraps I gave her from sewing projects. Now when I view those quilts, I remember her and those things I had sewn, and wonder about the stories from the fabrics I know werent mine in the quilt.

We will be interested to see your quilt in the future.:)

Well that certainly is a new use for a cooler!!! That pile really looks like fun just waiting for a needle and thread.
