Try brake cleaning fluid. Yes, common ordinary brake cleaner stuff. My friend did what you did and marked her quilt for quilting and could not get the marks out. Her hubby suggested brake cleaner since it works so well. She tried it on a small section and 'voila' no marks. What do you have to lose?

Ditter's idea is a good one! If you have lemons, make lemonade! This might be an opportunity to try out a different color of thread on the top to "hide the marks" and perhaps you'll even make something more beautiful out of it.

Sometimes our failproof ideas fail :oops: Not all inks are alike nor all hair sprays. Washable pencils is the safe way for the future. Thank you, janedee!! Lots of people will be out searching for those wonderful pencils! :-D :-D

I was told one time to use AEROSOL hairspray. I have tried it several times and it works.
