A quilt doesn't have to be pretty, does it?

I made this for my nephew, who is an amateur arachnologist. It is my own design and paper pieced. The spider is crocheted from black cotton yarn. There is a bit of red fabric under the spider, so you can occasionally see it peek through. I know it isn't pretty, but at least it is soft and warm. Hope he likes it.

I'm sure you made this for the right guy! I know it will make him laugh and be a great conversation piece for years to come. You are very creative, and I know he will just love you for making the quilt for him.

I quilt doesn't have to be pretty at all. It can be dramatic, and yours certainly is. You took your nephew's passion and your creativity and produced a wonderful quilt that he will love. I think you did a great job. Lois

If as you say your nephew is an arachnologist, he is going to absolutely love this quilt! How can he not love it? You did a great job on the quilting too. Very unique, one of a kind for sure.
