Beautiful Muv!! You're right, some of that fabric is American...the brown that is in your first house (the third pic), the vertical strip...I have some of that from my mother's stash...and I know she bought it in the 80's for a quilt she was working on for my sister.

Hello Charlee, I've just dug out a couple of pieces to check the selvedges. The green which is the main colour in the houses says "Ozark Calicos by Fabri-Quilt Inc." The brown flowered strips are "Joan Kessler for Concord Fabrics Inc. Crafted with Pride in USA". The pink flowers in the hedge I have spotted in a photo on Bonnie Hunter's blog, someone in one of her classes had worked it into one of their blocks.

I wish I knew where the background came from. It has a border print with Egyptians on. It didn't show up very well on photos which is a shame, because in the gateway of one of the houses are a couple of Egyptians who my husband has dubbed the Egyptian gardeners, which gives the whole quilt a slightly barmy edge.

That's funny! We think the same way here in the South...all the rest of y'all have accents but we don't!

What a beautiful quilt! The hedges are an ingenious way to lengthen the quilt and are the perfect touch to those beautiful houses. Like someone else said earlier, the houses look like manor houses.
