I thought half of it had light sashing too -- am glad I saw this post. I think it is wonderful and I love that it is so recycled! It is not too bright and I have a BUNCH of folks on this board that agree with me!!

Good luck -- Pat

Just keep going. When you get it done and quilted, you will love it. I love quilts that look like that. I have just learned not to be too judgemental about quilts until they are all done.

It is wonderful! It took me quite awhile to get used to scrappy quilts, but I have learned to love them. I even belong to a scrappy swap group so you get lots more different fabrics than if you used only your stash.
Don't give up. Your quilt is absolutely perfect.

You are too close to the quilt to appreciate that you have absolutely created what your son is desiring. The denim sashing is calming it down, and I can pretty much guarantee that in about three months after you have presented it to your son, you will walk in one day and LOVE it!
Plaids are busy, tis true - - but you are doing well. (I am assuming I am late to the advice, and I will probably never read through all the pages, but I had to say that I think you are doing a GREAT job!) <wave>
