I vote for no sashing. The blocks are beautiful and IMHO sashing would add nothing and like someone else said you would lose the squares where the points come together.

i like to add sashing to separate the stars, although sashing to match the background would look terrific

I agree with her and the 2 others who suggested this. Agreat place for some nice quilting and still make the stars the focus point.

ITA ... sashing, using the white background fabric, so that the sashing in essence does not show and the stars are floating and have nothing to compete with. You'd be left with lots of open space to do some spectacular quilting too!

Your blocks are beautiful. Love the way you did this. I vote for no sashing, but if you do I would use the back ground or just white so those gorgeous stars would continue to float. What is this pattern called? Love your work.

My first reaction was to say sashing, but then I looked at the blocks again and saw the squares within the blocks and they could be lost. So it depends what you intend to do for the quilting.

Whatever you decide, it will be beautiful!

I agree completely with bjchad. Your blocks are gorgeous either way.

I like it without the sashing! Have you considered off setting/ staggering the next row? Would love to see the possibility.
