Years ago in CO, we had a poodle, a lab, and a doxie who was a miniature. If the doxie had to go out in the snow, she would try to walk with no paws in the nasty white stuff. It didn't work well. She alwaus ended up going on the deck. The poodle would be out bounding through snow drifts, loving it all. The lab had no preference, she just loved life no matter the weather.

My mother is very much the same. Every time she comes, she sniffs, like she is expecting some bad smell.... And she will not touch any of the dogs.

TO each his own, I say.

You are special for caring for so many dogs. They have found a great Mom. I have had up to 4 at one time-I only tell that to other dog lovers!!!

I could not agree more. It is not ideal, and I would not recommend it. I try to stay under 10, but two came in last week in an emergency situation. This is above my usual limit.

I have two greyhounds and the snow is over their heads right now. They love it. You must be a rescue group all by yourself. Keep up the good work

:) That's wonderful, I'm involved in rescue also & currently care for 26 only 3 are in the house, but luckily we didn't get the snow, just the cold. I do greyts, zois and silken windhounds currently, but have several oddballs included. We had iggys for awhile but I finally got tired of the constant piddling! Our one fellow wearing a sweater was always under the bed covers when it got this cold!
Take care of those sweet things.

Bless you for fostering these dogs! My sister does rescue/fostering of Rhodesian Ridgebacks (large dogs!) and now has 7 large dogs living with her! I don't know how you all do it. I love to visit and I love dogs but couldn't have more than one anymore!
