I'm not very helpful on advice (sorry) but I sure love what your doing, or going to do.

It's lovely just like it is. If you want to make it bigger, then I like Sheila Elaine's idea. I really like the idea of the dark green as a final border.

I would do a small inner border of the gold and finish off with the dark green. But the log cabin idea is great too, and would give you the width you want. Good luck, it is absolutely adorable. Post pics when done!

I agree with this idea. Can't wait to see it, I think it will be awesome!

The green fabric looks like a good blender to me. But, I know you will choose the perfect one.

Wow! Thanks you all for your comments... I was thinking to continue the log cabin but didn't want to influence anyone! Hope I have enouf fabric to do so. I can ALWAYS buy MORE, lol!!! When the gal who gave me the panel saw what I had done - I could see she was wanting it back... Maybe I'll give her the finished product... I WAS planning on this for OUR Christmas quilt since I rarely keep the quilts I make. I can always make MORE... Thanks again!

I agree with charismah, except use 2 colors for the outside border. I think smaller log cabin blocks around what you already have for center will work really well.

More log cabin blocks was my first thought too since you are wanting to add several more inches to it.

Very pretty.
