Your quilt is absolutely stunning, and after all the work that went into it I can see that you'd want perfection when it comes to the marking lines. I would too!
Have you tried using a fabric eraser? I'm also reading posts about using kerosene or lighter fluid on the yellow chalk.
Here's a funny thing I've discovered along that same vein: I found the very best cleaner for my kitchen stove grease and countertops is...Orange Glo furniture polish! Works like a charm and it actually dissolves the grease immediately, then wipe clean with a paper towel or dry cloth, so maybe they do have the right idea in using the kerosene or lighter fluid.
Not sure if this will help but there are several suggestions here that also sound promising.

It is absolutely beautiful, I believe you achieved all of your goals. I only hope that one day I can quilt that good although not sure I have the patience. If you can't get the markings out and it really bothers you, let me know I will be happy to pay postage to get it sent my way LOL

Hi Lea,
The quilt looks fabulous! I love it!
I also have had the bad experience of chalk ...I learned something. You can use colored chalk on any fabric and it washes out...however if you use white thread it will permenently dye the white thread. Because of the process of thread they bleach all white thread ( all brands) it makes that thread very porous and readily able to soak up the colored chalk. So it doesn't come out. I learned the hard way myself.
