I get a bit bored by doing tedious piecing that is much the same, block after block. It makes it easier if I put on some music that I love. I get to kind of thinking on that...and singing. So far, no fabric has complained

The blocks make a secondary pattern that looks like sashing, if I alternate them with plain blocks i'd lose that pattern. And I made all the half square triangles and quarter square triangles for the blocks first, only four more to make.

They really are lovely, and you seem to be really cranking this one out....but I can understand burning the pattern. I would still make 1 extra square...put it in a picture frame with glass and put an X thru it.....lol
just a little reminder to count the number of pieces before deciding to make a square.......

I hear you on the too many pieces especially when your making something that isnt your color/style. Its a pretty quilt however and surely will be loved. I once started a bear paw quilt. Made about 5 squares and realized 60 plus pieces per square were NOT my idea of fun at all. Same with the compus patterns.. I did one. Never again. You will whip it out from all your posts on projects you have done your a wiz at this. (tell yourself this at least ten times a day until its done).
