Me too, I like the rock and the dark just like you have it shown. It looks as if the tiger is moving instead of in thin air.

I prefer the rock too.... but it depends on what you're going to put with it as well.

I'm voting no rock, the different shades in the background fabric give the illusion of the tiger climbing a rocky surface by itself. Both are wonderful though, but i definitely like the no rock better.

    Charla,
I'm just glad that I don't have to make a decision! That's an awesome tiger. He's going to look wonderful wherever you put him!

I vote no rock .... It is really sharp without the rock.

I vote no rock -- the tiger is just coming straight out of the fabric at you....beautiful!!

I vote no rock. The tiger is so cool that it's less distracting without the rock. The rock is what I focused on first when I saw it. I would want everyone's concentration focused on the awesome tiger that you did. This quilt that you're doing is looking wonderful no matter which way you choose.

Wow looks like a split. I'm voting for NO rock. Just seems to pop more.
    Fab job either way!

what about making the rock from the black, with the gray as background? the tiger doesn't pop on the gray, but reversing the rock and "whatever" keeps him a-poppin' while adding interest and dimension to the background.

I vote Rock! But don't think we're really helping! The tiger is fabulous BTW!

I like the first one. It looks like the tiger is jumping out at you, with the 2nd one I was distracted by the rock. I'm sure that after it's quilted either one will be fabulous.
    Beautiful Tiger.

I tryed that before and it didn't look that great...I actually tryed many colors...lol ... for the rock and back ground. the black didn't work for the rock with the grey background the tiger looked great on the black... I'm so torn between the two but I think it's going to be rock......rock out votes the no rock. I really like no rock, but I think I'm going to go with the major vote of rock!..... I will post photo's when it's done. Thanks everyone for your thoughts :)

    It is a beautiful combination.

    Good quilting.
