Without doing SID what ideas for a motif do you all have.

YBR quilt - the white you see is the fabric the quilt is laying on.

How much experience do you have or how elaborate are you willing to do? :D:D:D

The last one I did "QAYG". I divided the quilt into 4 quadrants (I did not use borders, but made the quilt 7 blocks x 7 blocks) - 1 was 4x4, 1 was 3x3, and 2 were 3x4. I FMQ (just plain old meandering) each quadrant, staying about an inch away from the seam line. I then carefully seamed together the top, trimmed the batting, and used a small sashing strip on the back. Lastly, I did a quick meander over the seam line and allowance.

Its so pretty! The colors remind me of springtime. I think I would do big daisy and swirls with hoops and loops.

Because it is straight lines, any quilting will curves will soften those lines. Pretty fabrics

With the colors, I would do a simple pencil type star in the big squares and meander in the rest... colors remind me of hot days and starry nights :)

I did a YBR and used a large stipple and it softened it even more without SID. Hope you post again when it is done.

i have made over 20 quilts and I applique/hand stitch them myself. I don't think I want anything really elaborate for this YBR - I would think something kind of plain and simple would be the best bet. I have been all over the web looking for stencils or ideas and so far have not come up with anything.
