You set it so it would subscribe you. It wasn't in the default.

That may be. I never clicked on that tutorial, so didn't figure it out from that.

Here's a snapshot of what to do if you'd like to be auto subscribed to all threads you start or post on.
Click "SETTINGS"...then click on the "GENERAL SETTINGS" on the left, then change where that other arrow is to how you'd like to receive notification. Make sure to hit "SAVE" at the bottom of the page!

Thank you

I found mine in the blog section.

humbird 11-05-2011 03:01 PM

one more question, sorry - how to find one's own posts

Is there a way to go to your own posts? I posted a question the other day, and would like to find it to see if there were any answers, but can't seem to find the post? I would go to "my posts" on the old board. Is there such a thing now? Thanks in advance.

such a sew and sew 11-05-2011 03:03 PM

click on resources. then right next to it is the blog section.

tangledthread 11-05-2011 03:03 PM

Why the need to say 'sorry' - that is a great question and I will be watching for the answer. Thank you.

sharon b 11-05-2011 03:05 PM

So to My Profile at the top right click on that - under your avatar pic it shows latest postings

Sadiemae 11-05-2011 03:06 PM

One way is to go to My Profile and on the left side choose Find Latest Started Threads. I really need to start reading more carefully, but there is also a choice for View newest Posts.

kathy 11-05-2011 03:06 PM

click your name, you get a popup that will show all your posts

sharon b 11-05-2011 03:06 PM

Are these Tutes you wanted to Bookmark under the old system ? If so go to settings then Bookmarks

texpat45 11-05-2011 03:09 PM

click on your name above your avatar pic. a pop up will open with several options...

QuiltnNan 11-05-2011 03:22 PM

perhaps the reason you can't find the answer in other people's questions is, like you, they did not clearly identify what the question is in the title. click on your own avatar and listed under that are several options. you will find your posts there

Sadiemae 11-05-2011 03:26 PM

It can be confusing. When I say My Profile I mean the tab at the top of the page which would give each person their own profile.

Thank you so much, I finally found them. I wish they were someplace where I could re name them my pages so I would remember easier where they are. Something else I have to get use to but at least with your help I found them.

Well, I think what i am trying to say is, you could only put so much in Bookmark, under the old waay, then you could go to the top and click on MY PAGES and add more, did these transfer as well?? I'm sorry if i am so confusing. Thank you for all your help

donnajean 11-05-2011 04:52 PM

Replies listed before original Post?

Is there a setting to change when I read a thread so that I don't have to scroll down through pages & pages to see what the replies are replying to? I used to get the Post listed 1st & then all the replies.

valleyquiltermo 11-05-2011 04:58 PM

Yes go to settings and then my account and then general settings then scroll down to Thread Display Options and then toThread Display Mode:<select id="sel_threadedmode" tabIndex="1" name="threadedmode"><option value="0">Linear - Oldest First</option><option selected="selected" value="3">Linear - Newest First</option><option value="1">Threaded</option><option value="2">Hybrid</option></select>Click on the arrow to show linear- oldest first.
Here you can choose the display mode for threads. For a full explanation of the modes, please view this help page.

Buddy lists

I hope this hasn't been discussed before. If so then I must have missed it. My question is do we still have buddy lists? And if so, how do you add someone to it?

Been looking around and can't find anything about it. Am I missing it?

Thanks for the help.

icon17 11-06-2011 08:21 AM

Yes we do But they are called 'Contacts' and its not the same we can't some of the things we could be for such as keep notes to our self about a person. :)

Thank you for the new changes making it alot like the old QB

I have noticed several changes that make this alot like our old QB. All the topics in Main are now Quilt related, rather than a mishmash of topics, the categories are also almost normal. I'm hoping that we can get tabs across the top of the page too so we don't have so many extra steps to go to different categories.

THANK YOU!!!

Quilter Day-by-Day 11-06-2011 11:56 AM

Okay thanks for the info thats the question I asked the other day but then I found them. My question now is how do you bookmark or use my pages while your on the board looking at a picture of a quilt or a certain link that you want to save.

nursie76 11-06-2011 11:58 AM

And the nice thing is under bookmarks you can create files to sort your bookmarks into manageable categories so you can find them quicker.

Just above the first message on the page is "Thread Tools" with a little arrow next to it to indicate that clicking on it will bring up a little menu of things you can do with that thread (topic). One of the choices is "subscribe" which is the same as watching.

Applique / EQ sections?

I've looked in the help section but can't seem to locate where I would find the sites previous categories
of Applique and also the EQ section. Have they been eliminated or moved elsewhere. Thanks for directions. BTW, I am liking the "new" board.

You are looking for User Defined Topics. To go there, click on Home to bring up all sections. Scroll to the bottom of the sections. On the first yellowish bar below the list is the link for User Defined Topics.

I'm still finding my way around, but seem to be getting some of the post that I have read. Is there a way to mark the post after you have read it.

HELP? about the Colored Envelopes

Hi, Can someone please tell me what the diffrerent colored 'Envelopes' mean? to the left in the forum. I don't know how to find the anser because I don't know what they are called.

AnitaSt 11-07-2011 08:36 AM

Open a Forum then scroll all the way to the end of page. At the left side there is a list. BUT...I'm not sure that it's consistent yet. I thought the envelope would change from blue to gray when I read it....but it stays blue until there are no unread posts in it. Also at the bottom of the Forum page there are some choices as to how to display the thread....I chose to see only threads with posts from the Last Day and to see them in order of when the thread was started...not when the most recent post was made by someone. See if that helps.

Anita

icon17 11-07-2011 08:51 AM

Thanks AnitaSt I'll try that. :)

mzzzquilts 11-07-2011 09:38 AM

thinking you could click "settings tab", then look for general settings on the left.

Kappy 11-07-2011 12:39 PM

Not an answer...just more questions

This is not an answer to your question, but I haven't been able to figure out how to start a new topic...feel free to answer that question too, but my question is ....drum roll please...Under Thread display Mode there are choices (oh so many choices) Linear Mode, Switch to Hybrid Mode, Threaded.....what do they mean.

JoanneS, You are not in the abyss alone. I have NO tabs at the top of my pages to navagate anywhere. I was able to find my profile info but it didn't have any tabs there either.
