2016 UFO Challenge of the Month
#1131
been out for a little bit, life happens, right? Well, for this month I have finished 3 table runners that were sitting around half-done. Didn't get pics as they were done in a hurray for last minute gifts. Now I am trying to finish a lap size quilt for a baby with matching stuffed blocks. Got blocks stuffed and quilt sandwiched, just need to quilt. I think I may try my hand at FMQ again. I enjoyed it the other 2 times I tried, but only on smaller stuff. I am afraid of the big stuff, but this one with be the biggest I have attempted! I'm pretty sure I won't have it done for March, but certainly for April.

I have finished putting the borders on a 2013-14 BOM. The top is 90 X 94 and is just a bit to big for my Grace EZ3 floor frame. Now, I'll get it ready to take to a local longarmer so it can be quilted.

My goodness, everyone has been so busy with all the neat finishes. You all have kept Janice busy just tooting the horn. Seems like all I have done is be tired of shoveling snow and we got 8 more inches between yesterday and today. Ughh! But I have been quilting just a little. I was trying free motion quilting on my star quilt and I FINALLY got it done. It was really a struggle with my domestic machine with such a little throat. But thankfully, with encouragement from another QB member who lives close to me, I did it. Have to trim and bind it so won't make a March finish but for sure, I am hoping to have it be in the April count. I started it back in October at a class and then between then and now, started two other quilts so technically, it is a ufo but not for much longer. Plus my computer has been acting up so plan to get a new one (refurbished actually). Just waiting for weather to be better to drive to the bigger town. Sure great to see everyone's pictures!

Love the finishes Jaba, Krista and Sync. I am amazed at all of your work. Jaba, the colors are lovely--I bet your granddaughter will love it. Krista, I am in awe, that is an amazing quilt. Good for you for figuring out how to do it without having to cut all those squares. Sync--good job on finishing the top, looks very complicated. I can't wait to see it quilted.

Sync, love the colors in your quilt!
Grand daughter loved the quilt, she called and told me "Great grandma Jan, it's beautiful and he will love living at my house" I can still hear her little voice.....and then her Mommy sent me a pic
