I'm loving hearing and seeing people's stories and seeing the beautiful quilts. ckcowl's story though: I have no words. What appalling behaviour from the instructor! I can see why that would sap your mojo. I suspect the best motivator for me in that situation would be revenge - as in, I'm going to figure this out to spite the instructor!!!.

I managed to progress further with the handquilting on the tree skirt - I did 3 'snowmen' outlines, and now have 6 out of 8 planned Christmas tree outlines done. I plan on adding some stars in the other cream spaces - not sure what I'll do in the red yet... (will try to attach photo - difficult to show the quilting, even though the guidemarks haven't been washed out yet - I'm happy with the effect in real life though)

The shop owner shares in the responsibility, since this fraud took place in her store. She made profit on the fabrics you bought. She should have found another teacher to finish the lessons, or teach them herself! That would be the last time I'd darken the door of that shop. So sorry that happened to you!

Everyone started posting their June finishes and I got off my lazy butt and finished the blind stitching on the label for my "Quilt of Many Colors"

70x90" - a generous twin size.

Now - here is the question. I made it in a fit of Covid Anxiety (I know its not the only one out there) but I wanted to donate to charity. Specifically my local Woman's Shelter.
1) do I just call them up and say "hey I made this"? Or
2) do I try and sell thru eBay and donate proceeds.

Yes I realize its my choice but there is a fundamental issue- cash will help more individuals but the quilt may send a greater message to the one recipient. So I'm open to hearing opinions.

Congratulations on the new machine, Joe's mom. I've heard a lot of good about Jukis.

I'm itching to start a brand-new quilt right now. It's so hard to stay on track with the UFOs! But if I start a new one, I know from experience that the UFO circle will just keep on going!

My first UFO for June, which I think I've already mentioned, is the baby quilt for my first great grand, a girl, due in September. This was all made with fabric I acquired during the first few weeks of quarantine.
