I thought I better put my two cent in, all the finishes are really coming up gorgeous for August, congratulations everyone. I haven't worked on those aprons since the muscle spasms, still working on getting the proper set up in the sewing room. I got another plan working. But, I've enjoyed watching you all's work. Stay safe

Anyway this is not finished but I passed a milestone and am needing some pats on the back. My nephew's quilt- I finished the center piecing. It still needs its piano keys to extend top and bottom and the rest of the borders. I can see the finish line - just not there yet.

Cherrybsixty- ouch, muscle spasms are no fun-I hope you feel better soon.
Rff1010- that’s looking good.
Last night After a fierce battle, the big butterfly made it clear to me that it was not interested in being an Aug. finish ... however, I think I may emerge victorious in September...

I didn't use a special ruler - just a 60 degree. Cut strip sets 3" , piece pairs, and then cut pyramids. Match pyramids to make boomerang blocks. Pretend its on point to put everything together.
There is a pattern but I didn't use it. Just figured everything out from looking at the picture on the front.

rff...loving the red/white/blue so far. Piano key border will look awesome.
joesmom....your finish is beautiful!!
Quossome....love your finish and your story...
Conchalea....you and K are really cookin...that's so cool.
I'm maintaining the "no UFO" so I am staying focused. I have one quilt (non-UFO) just returned from LA to get the binding on....my King quilt with the gazillion HST's is still in progress and I work on it each week..The blocks are almost done so I started doodling ideas for the applique borders. That will take some time, too. However, in between, I did the Kimberbell Mystery quilt called Love Notes. It was for 5 weeks, heavy on applique.....and is so cute...and you know Kimberbell...lots of embellishments. Keep on stitching, peeps!

Rff, Progress is to be commended and honored. You are on your way to a September finish and we will all celebrate with you! Some quilts just don't like to be finished and we have to make them step from the UFO pile to the Done pile. Ask me how I know this to be true. Tee-Hee-Hee!
