Has anyone found a sight where people are posting their colorways? I'd love to explore alternative colors. I want to go beachy, just haven't delved into my fabrics yet. I have to clean up before I open those bins. Right now, my sewing room has exploded working on other projects.

I'm in again, but I really don't know why since I never finished the last two. I love making blocks -- assembling the quilt not so much. I'm sort of following Bonnie's colourway but substituting brown for grey. My problem is the orange. I have some marbelized but it is way too bright and I don't want to buy anything else. I'm afraid the print I've picked out is too close to the red. I'm also dithering about the green. I'd appreciate some feedback.

I think the print is too close to the red, especially since Bonnie's pieces tend to be small. What I found using my fabrics last time (pure example) was if the color needed was blue, and there was one tiny little pink flower center every 12", that pink center was what ended up in the block...
With brown for grey, do you have a strong tan option to substitute for the orange?
And I like the greens!

Belfrybat, I actually like those colors together. But Iceblossom is right, if the red print gets chopped into smaller pieces to focus on one of the other colors besides red, I suspect it will give you a scrappier impact. All the print fabrics in red and green play well with the other colors. I've never done one of those quilts so Iceblossom's input is valuable. Didn't Bonnie Hunter say to avoid big prints as they may change the look of the quilt? Sounds to me like small pieces are coming. You could always wait and see what gets paired up with the reds and the sizes and then decide if you want to keep the big print red.
Wishfulthinking, if you want pink, you should use pink if it plays well with the other colors you've picked. It's your quilt :-)

I would have to see it in order to judge. But one consideration might be value. The red and the gray are the darkest colors, so you will get a different look for the pattern if you substitute a medium or light for a dark.
