I have selected my fabric and it has all arrived; I chose patterned yardage. I think my green and my red are a bit off the paint chip but I am going to call it good enough. I was going to use solid white but that package may have been taken. It was marked delivered but I never saw it. It either came fairly late in the day after we shut the door and fairies took it in the night or hopefully, it will be actually delivered tomorrow. That has happened once before so I am holding out some hope-it was an entire bolt!

When I went to the LQS which has a very small selection, I found the only white that will work well and a yellow I liked much better than the yardage I originally chose. I have enough to make the entire quilt but I am only commiting myself to 2/3. Thanks for the advice on that because I was planning to do half until I saw it might not be enough. I was planning on pre-washing my fabric unless that is a bad idea. I figure if a fabric is going to behave oddly, I would rather know before I have put a lot of work in with it. Now it is time to hurry up and wait I guess.

happylab, I'm excited to see your fabrics!

Carol, I think your colors have the same value relationship as Bonnie's, just that she is working in darks and med. darks and you are working in med. and light. The only thing that gives me pause is your neutral/gold contrast, because the white paper doesn't stand out well on the yellow fabric in the grayscale photo. However, I think everyone using Bonnie's colors is going to face the same issue with their lighter golds (and I noticed some pretty light yellows in Bonnie's photos of her fabrics).

Wonky star, I just love your fabrics, especially the green! Is there someone you can call about the not-delivered bolt?

I will check with the post office but there has been a pretty active car break in ring in the neighborhood so if the package was delivered it is long gone. There was a lot of theft on the surrounding streets according to neighbors over the last few nights. I am so happy my other fabrics made it; I had more work into choosing them. So fingers are crossed but if it is gone, I just hope it goes to good use. Maybe someone will develop a love of sewing or have a killer toga party.

Wonky star, that is a much sweeter attitude than I would have about it.

It’s awfully quiet around here. Guess everyone is waiting for the start on Friday.

I think a lot of people are prepping for Thanksgiving and I don't think there are as many participating this as previous years. I have noticed a sharp decline in board participation as well since the new format.
I am waiting for the reveal to do this one, I do have all my fabrics though, and I cant wait to see everyones progress. I just love to see everyones versions!

I was having trouble deciding between light or dark neutrals, so I finally took a photo of my fabrics with black and light, and taped it to the bedroom wall, where my eye would fall on it unexpectedly. That helped me realize that my colors aren't bright enough to show well against black (particularly the red), so I will go with light neutrals. I found one I liked, so will go with a constant neutral for the first time on a Bonnie mystery.

I also very impetuously bought a backing fabric. I never choose backing until a top is complete, except for Bonnie mysteries, where I can't seem to resist jumping the gun.

Only two more sleeps to go until the first clue! Friday mornings are such fun during mystery season.
