Default Silly Question

I was cutting out some pieces for a mystery quilt I just started with my Quilting friends from the ADIRONDACKS, when my husband , looked at my RT not quite finished quilt hanging on my design wall. Puzzled , he asked , “Why are you starting another quilt when this one isn’t finished yet?”
Some questions just don’t have an answer!

Terry, that gave me a laugh!!
I love the Adirondacks. I spent a lot of my childhood there. Beautiful country!

Terry - Got my chuckle for the day - thank you!

I decided I needed another border on the sides, so will go with the fabric I showed. I'm doing a 4" border. I'll post a picture when I get done! Thanks you all for your comments - so helpful!

Just curious. I know alot of RT sewers are putting on an extra border. Is it to put on a king size, or is it to accommodate a large drop? Thought I would ask just in case I need to add an extra border.

Toverly - when I put RT on my queen size bed, there was not enough drop on the side. All the other Bonnie Mystery Quilts (I have done 12) have been square, which usually fit my bed fine. I have often added about a 4" border because I have a higher mattress and it needs that drop. I have a several bed skirts that I use depending on the colors of the quilt. Just my personal preference. I have also bought a number of different colored Sham covers that coordinatie nicely with my different quilts.

Thanks JeanieG, I thought the drop might be the answer. Just wanted to confirm. I know newer mattresses are really high and eliminate the box springs. Happy Sewing!

Got a better picture of the completed top -- it is longer than the last two and wide enough for me Still have zero desire to correct the borders...

Here's the song for this quilt, goes back to that Stark White and Winter is Coming -- Bette Midler singing The Rose

Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the Spring becomes the rose

I think they look just fine too, the Geese are supposed to be pointing out to the edges, I have them pointing in to the middle. But I've got the yellow and white on correctly. The corners are better done the correct way
