I am still working on my frolic! Got sidelined by covid panic at work, a broken computer, and gardening season. I have a goal to finish the top this month--I am really close to finishing it. My last day I off I finished the border strips with the HSTs, just have to sew them onto the quilt center. I am still debating if I want to add another thin neutral border around that so I can use a flanged binding without cutting off points.

Thanks for the kind words, Suern3. I thought those hand dyes would be easier to work with than they were -- asides from the problems of getting the dyes fixed, I never would have thought I would care so much on which side was "right". I was wrong!

Bonnie has a distinctive style, I also have a bit of a style and the two don't quite mesh... but I really loved her directions other than the keeping it a mystery part. I think I can learn a lot of I do it again this year and use it as a good way to press my seams to the side, instead of my usual open. I will choose safer and easier fabrics to work with, or at least ones with definite fronts and backs.

All through this year with Covid lock downs I've had a hard time getting my own projects started -- but I can react and respond to something like this.

And good going, Origamigoldfish -- as I recall, you have some origami or at least goldfish fabrics in your project??

I’m still slowly enjoying working on Folic. Steps #4 & #6 slowed me down. I finally marked all the pieces so I can make the flying geese and 1/2 hst. I do like the colors and pattern. That is my motivation to finish before end of October. I’m making a king size refigured to fit my bed. So that means making more blocks.

Have fun sewing everyone.

One of my dark blues has origami birds on it, yes. I'm surprised you remember!

I finished my top today five minutes before I had to run out the door to work, hopefully pictures tomorrow. I think I have decided against adding another border, but I will think about it for a few days first. Now I just have to decide how to quilt it!

So my Frolic top is finished! I ordered backing fabric a few days ago and it may take a couple of weeks to get here. That's fine with me. I have a couple of quilts waiting to be quilted and I will work on those. Frolic will just have to get in line!

I just looked through the finishes and partial finishes and they look so nice!
I don't know why I dislike mine so much. It's in a heap in a spare bedroom. I need to get it out and do something with it.
I'm thinking maybe if I have it longarmed I may like it better. I definitely won't tackle it myself.
But just maybe that will help?

I'm still glad I made it though. I had some much fun with all of you
