Hi everyone,

Givio, thank you very much for your advice about my colors. I think I will have to use that Layer Cake.

Macybaby, I like much better your new colors, they are lovely all together!

Jclinganrey, nice to see all those scrappy tiny things you made.

Frustratedquilter40, I love your reds and blues!

QuiltnNan, it's amazing how different looks the same pattern when using 'not the usual colors'. Striking (although I still prefer the happy version).

I've completed my 4th block... not very satisfied with it, the red chain hurts my eyes. Oh, well... I hope it will be unnoticed when mixed with other blocks. Maybe I can hide it in a corner of the completed quilt

I've been playing with the sashings too, trying to guess how they will look all together.

And now I'll have to stop sewing for a while, because I will be out from next weekend until last week of November... oh, this is going to be a long long road for me. I'll keep an eye on your progress! I will miss my routine (1 block per week), I really felt that I was finally advancing...

Silk - nice blocks & yes, you can place the 'offensive' block so it doesn't hurt your eyes so much. LOL ((even if it's the label on the back!!)) - -

You're making great progress and I'll bet you'll continue to do so. We'll keep an eye out for you on this thread. Chime in anytime!

Maybe what you don't like is that the red chain seems to dominate the block moreso with the other chains relationship to the circle. The top two are more balanced. The red draws the eye to the center then out while the softer pink takes the eye from the outer edge and brings it in to the center. All are delightful...haven't sewn on the chain blocks yet...maybe tonight.

i know what you mean, that’s why I dislike the dollar store so much. I don’t need to buy a new junkie can opener every few months, I’d rather buy one good one that can be sold at my estate sale when I die.

Silk, I personally love your block with the red chain running through it! The different controlled colors you’ve used will make a lovely quilt.

Progress. Step one and two done. Christmas green, white and red:9-patch and 4-p and strips done.

Since I have the stash, I started on the traditional red, white and blue BS:Strips, 4-p and 9- patch all done. Love chain sewing, it really speeds up things.

Nice to see some progress! Since there is non on this quilt at my house lol! I've gotten distracted by the JK quilt and am getting all the blocks cut out. Only a few more and I can get my cutting table cleaned off and get back to sewing! I just hate hauling fabric in and out to cut a bit here and there.
