I finally finished mine. I had to change it some to make it work. 1- I added more blue around the top half to make it 12 1/2". 2-I omitted the barn strip under the doors as it made no sense to me. I have a barn and cows and they don't jump up and down from the barn. lol.

Toverly and lawsonmugs love both of your barn blocks. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who questioned the animals jumping in and out of the barn.

Love the barn blocks. ....both turned out cute.... I think I'm going to do the barn block from Quilterscache instead. It's paper pieced and I need to shrink mine down a bit so it works better for me..

Love the barn blocks posted so far--have mine finished though I changed the pattern quite a bit. Will post when I have a picture.

It's not a bad block to do. Just pick some colors you like. I bet a wood brown barn wood look good with a cloudy sky and a gray silo. Or maybe find a horse or cow fabric and fussy cut it coming out of the barn.Make the square door a dark gray or black like it is open. Or makes some doors opened. Just ave fun. That's what this is to me.

Here is my version of a barn block with a pile of fertilizer and a "Hole in the Barn Door" window.

Jenn that is exactly what I was saying about leaving the doors open. I like the black outline. Is it just from the applique?
