I'm glad there were no neutrals in the first clue, as I am still uncertain which I will use. The more context I have to base a decision on, the better! I'm eager to try out the easy angle ruler. I hope to start later in the day.

I've had the Easy Angle ruler for a long time, but have never used it until today. Wow, it's fantastic! I love that you cut the strips the same size as if you were doing regular squares. And not having to trim all four sides of the HST after pressing - what a time saver! I'm sold!

That's a hoot - the first clue and she made her own blocks wrong! it was the first thing I noticed when I printed it out this morning. I did think it looked better with the blue on the inside of the block.
I guess it pays not to rush into these things, or you might find yourself with a big mess! I hope she does better next week!
I'm going to paper-piece mine in groups of 8 at a time, so I'll have the opportunity for a bunch of scrappy looks.

I'm sort of puzzled about the scrappy part of this. When I do a scrappy, I know ahead what the layout will be and can spread things out evenly around the quilt. But here, we don't know the layout. Are you folks trying to get all different colors in one block? Like two different pinks and two different teals in one broken dished block. Guess I'll wait and see what a few pictures bring.
Did you read on the blog the comment from one poster about being so excited to be starting the mystery that she rolled out of bed too fast, and knocked her face into the bedside table and gave herself a nosebleed!!! Oh dear.

whitepine...that is funny, but NOT! Poor thing..... I got the correct clue printed, but can't start till next week. Gotta find my ruler, I know it's here somewhere.............
Glad I'm only doing 1 fabric for each color...not so confusing. I love scrappies, but not mystery scrappies...very confusing to try to spread them out!
