International Patriotic Challenge
#322
QuiltE pointed me to this challenge several days ago and I have to confess, I'm intrigued. I've read all the posts, have been following the thread every day and started sketching some ideas this evening. The result is now I'm too psyched up to sleep. I'm still deciding if I should join in (I have another challenge I'm working on for a magazine), but it's very tempting...and getting more so almost daily.
As a border state dweller for most of my life, I'd really like to do something that shows the international camaraderie shared between the US and Canada so I hope that would fit into the theme. QuiltE is very good at promoting this challenge...and I do thank her for that. I'm off to polish up some of those sketches.

Welcome Ghostie!!
Sounds like a wonderful theme to your project!! Fit absolutely perfect for International Patriotism. Remember while this is a Challenge, there's really no rules ... it's just do something!
And while we've focused to the Canada Day and Independence Day dates ... there's really no deadline.
It was more Works4Me and my date ... as we both had projects that we had sitting around but not getting at. So just make plans and get started!!
And yes, we like to see the before, during and after stages ... so we can quilt along with you, and cheer you on!!! I'll look forward to seeing your sketches, and perhaps your fabrics!

Hello to all the new people on the thread - it's getting to be quite a crowd!
Finished the shamrocks today. Glad you like them! Gardnergal - look at the tutorial I posted about vintage machine applique and try it out - it's really easy!

Hip Hip Hooray for you Muv!!!!!!!
So, will it be the Scottish Thistle next?
Charles and Camilla have landed ... and are now tying up traffic as their cavalcade make their way to their hotel. A wee rest for them and then off to the Victoria Day Fireworks display!
