Jen Kingwell blocks and finished quilts

Thank you all!!!!!!!!!
I saw the same block on Facebook, so very different which made me really uncertain about mine.
I thought after a white/bright quilt I needed to do something different.
Hopefully the sashings will bring it all together!

Last night I couldn't sleep - happens quite often - and I thought about doing a Kingwell quilt in different fabrics, like lace, velvet, wool, silk....you name it. What do you think? It's just a thought!
I never made a crazy quilt but I think that's what they're using too?

Going out of our comfort zone is a sign of growth, Anael. The look of this quilt immediately reminded me of some antique Dutch quilts I have seen online..look at this site and you will see what I mean. Notice the center block in many of the quilts...oftentimes a small block compared to most Medallion quilts. You may be familiar to An Moonen already. She seems to be the premier expert on antique Dutch quilts. And yes she has a FB page...of course in Dutch! The backside of the crib quilt in the second link was the inspiration for a mini quilt I made as a wedding gift for SIL's childhood friend and bride when they were married back in 2005. I used white and blue similar to Delftware for the colors. I don't have a photo of it. I also used red fabric for the backing.

Thanks OK! No, I never heard of An Moonen.
Isn't it funny she purchased her first reproduction kit in Houston?
The way the fabrics are used remind me of the Kingwell quilts.
Maybe Jen saw these quilts and thought hey I can do that too
