So I'm staying home sick from work today (really am) so would it be wrong to go to the sewing room and play with a UFO? When I was growing up the house rule was: If you are sick enough to stay home, you stay in bed until you are better. There was no leeway - mom was very strict. Funny how some childhood issues stay with us through adulthood.

"Gotta love the aging process." Great line and beautiful quilt! Congratulations, on getting this one off your stack and for your first UFO finish this year. Toot, Toot!

These pre-cut blocks were collected in 2013. I made a few and let them sit, made a few more, and let them sit some more. Gotta love the aging process. I finished all of them mid '15, but hated the finishing kit that I had purchased = more sitting. I finally settled on this setting, found a block design for the middle and designed borders around the center; which required more sitting to figure out how and to be brave enough to conquer them. Months passed by, like many of my UFOs. I finally put it all together last year and shipped it off immediately to Charisma for custom quilting. More months...and finally at 1am today, I finished the binding. Whew and woo hoo!

Kristijoy, generally UFOs are projects that have been sitting a while and it sounds like these you've posted meet your criteria so they count. It's YOU who determines what is or is not a UFO. Congratulations on your three UFO finishes! Toot, Toot!

Hi gals! Thanks for all the cheering on! The support around here is awesome! Yep...when I counted the 'not done UFO's' at the end of the year I as stunned to realize I had about two dozen! Yikes! Well...my shelf really was getting full! So I've abstained from working on 'new goodies' (that I totally want to cut out and get started with) until I get my pile down to a smaller size! I'm hoping that I didn't misunderstand the definition of UFO. I was thinking generally 'Unfinished Projects' that were filling up my shelf. These are from last year.

I finally took a few pictures. I've been working on bindings and now have 3 to show:

This one my husband loving calls "Fox in Socks"! This is my own design, my inspiration was a fox I saw in the woods near our house.

This one is part of Pat Sloan's Secret Garden Sampler. I got tired of it after about 6 months so didn't finish all the blocks. Decided what I had done would make a fine lap quilt in a different setting than the original QAL!

And lastly: This is from the Rainbow Scrap Challenge that is hosted out there in blog land by http://superscrappy.blogspot.com/. I did the first month of blocks, but didn't really fall in love with the remaining months, so finally decided that the first months would look great in a quilt themselves.

I've quilted 2 quilts in the last week and I have 6 more on my shelf that I'm hoping to get through by the end of the month. Then I can start on some new things!

I'm in this year. I have lots and lots of UFO's to finish. Hopefully between this thread and the fabric moratorium I will be able to get things done this year without buying new fabric - except for backing. I am currently working on two that I would like to finish this month. Wish me luck.

Here's a finish for me - a dresser topper or table runner for autumn. It measures 23 x 36 inches. It hasn't been sitting around too long, only about 6 months or so, but it's been long enough! I had planned to finish it early September but things happened and it languished... (So much nicer than saying I procrastinated too long LOL ) The back is a solid gold cotton, nothing special, but I quilted it using variegated thread. Charlie Brown is one of my favorite cartoon characters. The rest of the fabric, including the backing, was from my stash.

All2Pieces, what a fun piece, glad that it finally come together for you. Looking forward to more from you. I don't understand that 'fabric moratorium,' that another mindset to me. Happy sewing

Welcome, Sophie2. And good luck with your UFOs. While I'm not on the fabric moratorium thread, I do understand the need/wish to cut down on stash. My stash is pretty small and I've still got more than I can use in several years. I've pieced a couple of backings from the stash, too, rather than buy more. It won't work for all projects but you may find you can do it for some.
