Today I swung by the Goodwill next to my grocery store and found basically a bolt of fabric for $14. I've cut it into two pieces (one a bit over 6 yards, the other closer to 7) and am sending it in the boxes of small scraps I'm sending to people. While crumbs may be nice, sometimes we need a piece big enough for a back!

This purchase doesn't count against me :p it is going straight out of the house and not anywhere near my stash.

Today I sewed some of the 2.5" squares into units for the border of the Not Quite Y2K/flying square quilt. Tomorrow at small group I'll count up what I have and how many more I'll need. Think I'm close. Or at least I hope I'm close.

Oh you will love playing in EQ when you get to layout!

I know, OK....The custom design is really the reason I bought EQ. So excited to give it a whirl on a real project.

Oksewglad: I was wondering if it was the family with twins. Busy is right!

Belfrybat: You did use a lot of fabric in February! Way to go!

Iceblossom: A very nice gesture of sending bigger fabric with the smaller pieces.

Welcome aboard Plee. I have been lurking on this thread since January and love reading how disciplined everyone is. I had purchase a handful of FQs while at QuiltCon in Nashville last week for a class that I was lucky enough to get enrolled in. I am currently working on a project and using up scraps from my bin of strings...

jmoore...are you using a foundation for this blue beauty?

I'm almost finished with binding on the leftovers of the GS's Strip quilt.

Here's the finish on the little leftovers quilt. This used 2 yards of fabric stash plus a 1 1/2 yards of backing fabric which gets me to that + 4 yard mark...It won't be long and I will be in negative territory.

Oh, oh. I received a fabric store gift card for my birthday. I have to remind myself that they don't have expiration dates and to save it until I actually need something.

Go for it Teen! I've had some Sterlite plastic drawer units and I figured out what size would best work for the drawers. I wanted them as high as could be without getting stuck. You can customize the size to fit your needs and would suggest you to plan them accordingly. Make a small one to get the feel of technique.

This was the first pattern I tried and use them on my bedroom armoire shelves to hold unmentionables etc.

I haven't tried these, but thought they looked great.

I can't remember where I found the pattern for the drawer baskets, but I really like them. I'll try to take a pic and figure out how I did it. This is the kind I will make for my project bins.

Wow!!!!! Just in time. I moved a bookshelf into my sewing room and was just stacking my smaller fabrics after ruler folding them using my 6 1/2 in ruler. I have an extra 3 inches in the front and I was thinking, geesh how could I use that up that space - now, making baskets I can #1. use up this space by using the exact measurement and #2 use up some more fabric. Win Win!!!! What a great group!
