Showbizgirl, I Iike your scrappy quilt #394. So pretty. I will put that on my to do list. I have the 2.5” squares and other fabric. A great throw or lap quilt idea.

Sewing italltogether, congrates on your finish, looking forward to your pics.

joe'smom 03-17-2019 06:06 PM

Dedemac, that looks wonderful and very Scottish. What a clever use of ties!

I love your clear project bags, I’m looking for them on quilt in a day but can’t find them. Do you remember what they are called?

At any rate, I'm on board this year with around 20 started quilts, all the way from just needing borders or quilting all the way down to patterns chosen, fabrics pulled and in project bags. I absolutely love project bags. I have two kinds -- the larger clear bags from Quilt in a Day and smaller 9x12" zippered pouches I get on Amazon. I've decided to also count the strips as UFOs since these are not purchased but cut from quilt leftovers. I figure they will make 4 or 5 quilts. Whew!

OK, here are two UFO's finished this week-end. Both started in October and have been buried since then in other unfinished work. Same fabric line but different finishes. One has light gray background with bunnies and the other the same fabric but with light yellow bunnies. The line is Bunnies by the Bay and it is too charming for words. Both passed inspection by Scout who can't resist a quilt. I have enough bunny fabric for two more quilts but will set it aside to finish other UFO's. I dug out the Mystery Train #20 as my next quilt to finish. Started in late summer, perhaps. Need to make 20 more blocks!

oksewglad 03-18-2019 05:07 PM

WMUTeach...that's such cute fabric! Have you seen the panel that goes with it? Adorable...can be made into a quilt or a book. nicely done.

sewbizgirl 03-18-2019 05:48 PM

Love those bunny quilts, WMUTeach! Adorable fabric! Love the two patterns too. I've used the double slice pattern many times, myself. Nice finishes.

rryder 03-18-2019 06:16 PM

Cute quilts WMUTeach. Congratulations on finishing them.

Rob

PamelaOry 03-18-2019 06:20 PM

How did you find them?! Lol, I searched and searched....Thank you!!

WMUTeach, those are beautiful quilts! The second one really shows off the fabrics well.

Teen 03-18-2019 07:52 PM

WMUteach....Adorable bunny quilts. I love yellow so these really caught my eye. Such cute fabrics...

Pam...so sorry but I think I caused the "out of stock" condition on the project bags. :D I bought a bunch of the medium sized for me and my SIL when Belfrybat shared them previously. I used mine to pack up my projects for moving so they are all in boxes or I would offer one to you.. I didn't see the large size when ordering that MomtoSDR shared link to, tho. Those are neat, too...They look simple enough to make... Hmmmm.. Lol..

WMUT, Congrates on your completed UFO’s. All are so cute.

Well I finished a ufo. This quilt I started a few years back while at a lqs retreat. So I do not know the pattern. I backed with dark blue minke. It has a light weight batting. The quilting was done by a quilter at the lqs. I plan to keep this quilt.

SuziSew 03-19-2019 07:55 AM

Very cute! I had to smile about the timing when I got this in my e-mail from e-quilter:

https://www.equilter.com/pattern/108...20190318193515

Pretty sure it's the same fabric. Great job with both!

PamelaOry 03-19-2019 08:02 AM

Well...I emailed quilt in a day and heard back this morning. Apparently they don’t plan to stock them anymore. :(
‘On the bright side, I did some searching and found something very similar that I plan to order today. :)

WMUTeach 03-19-2019 05:53 PM

Yes, SuzieSew, same line. I got a layer cake with the yellow/gray/bunnies and some blenders, stars, moons etc. I did not have any of the other colors in the link you sent. Mine was from Timeless Treasures via MSQ Deal of the Day. I made the blocks, then lost the blocks and after ordering another layer cake, I found the blocks :D. But they are so charming that I know I will be making more baby quilts with bunnies with the many leftovers. I still struggle with liking gray but the gray is soft and blends so well with the bunnies. What ever....I just give them away. :o

Teen 03-19-2019 06:05 PM

Thank you, Pam, for the link!!! So glad you found some elsewhere.

joe'smom 03-20-2019 09:51 AM

That's a very striking quilt, happylab! I think your border choices are wonderful and the quilting design is perfect, too.

Teen 03-20-2019 10:59 AM

I only have the last section of my vintage looking quilt to finish up then prep for LA. I am so excited to finish this project. It has been a blast but I'm ready to move on.

Teen 03-20-2019 11:02 AM

Oh happylab...I didn't see your quilt...It's gorgeous! The Daisy quilting is so sweet with this layout. A little peek of petals in the dark areas. Looks really cool. Congratulations on finishing. That is an old one and must feel good.

rryder 03-20-2019 11:22 AM

That's a very striking quilt, Happylab, I can see why you're keeping it for yourself! Congratulations on getting it finished!!!

An alternative to the project bags that I've been using are the 2.5 gallon ziploc bags. There is a dollar store in the town next to where I live that carries them, 5 in a box and they are actually quite sturdy, and I haven't had any trouble with the ziploc slide, they are actually rather well made, might work while your waiting for the website to restock.

Belfrybat 03-21-2019 02:33 PM

You might want to look on Amazon for clear stadium totes as well. Here is one I found that is larger than mine, but about the same price I paid. There are other sizes. https://www.amazon.com/Bags-Less-Sec...ateway&sr=8-19

I finished quilting my current UFO today! Now I'll see if I can get it bound by the end of March.

Teen 03-21-2019 07:13 PM

Vintage quilt top done! Yea! Sandwiching tomorrow using stash backing then off to LA next week. Then...doing some hand embroidery to finish it up....will share picture when all done...

Darcyshannon 03-21-2019 11:27 PM

Definitely want to complete some UFO’s this year. I have two I want to complete in April. I will see about a count and PM you HappyLab. It will be nice to have some UFOs become quilts this year.

Congratulations on the finish Happylab, like the way the quilting echos the border print, and ties everything together.

Teen - waiting for the picture!

I have the top sandwiched trimmed and binding made, sewing it on today and will take it with to WI for the weekend and have a nice relaxing time sewing it down. With luck I will have a finished ufo on Sunday?

happylab 03-22-2019 05:31 AM

Thank-you everyone for you nice comments on my ufo.

DS welcome to our thread. I hope you enjoy the ufo show and encouragement we give each other.

Hopefully this works for a pic. Still unable to post another pic. Tried 3 times so far. Anyway I completed a very simple cheater’s baby quilt. All I had to do was add binding. I bought the quilted panel many years ago for my GN, but never had the right fabric and top together at one time. Next week it going out in the mail for another GN’s baby boy. The othe project was a very small Santa and Rudolph Dollie, (at least that’s what I called it). I’ll keep trying to post pics. Back to other UFO’s. Happy sewing everyone.

Belfrybat 03-23-2019 01:39 PM

Kudos to those who are finishing their UFOs. I'm busy quilting but except for two they are not UFOs. I'm just finishing one up and hope to have a pic by Monday. Perhaps two if I will get my hiney in gear and finish the quilting. I go in spurts and will quilt one or two a day for several days, then stop to piece some more. I'd much rather piece than quilt!

sewbizgirl 03-23-2019 05:11 PM

Hi Darcyshannon!

My plans for UFOs have been pushed onto the back burner for a while. I received some donation fabric (a bunch!) and I've been washing it and have started to use it for charity quilting. Hope to have a UFO done in April!

Amen, sister! Love to work out the puzzle of the pattern and must make myself quit. Binding is easy-peesy then comes the label.

I'm counting this finished!

Just the label to create, but don't have the wording quite right. Only have one question since this is the first time I did SID quilting and some hand quilting in the center of the large squares. Do I need to add any thing to the borders for quilting? I have the seam at the binding then the SID next to the seam where it attaches to the blocks, is that all I need? I have always done a random edge to edge quilting before. I'm unsure and turning to more experienced persons for Help. :o

Thank you :)

retiredteacher09 03-29-2019 04:19 PM

Congratulations on your finish, Dedemac! Very nice!

Teen 03-29-2019 04:53 PM

Wonderful finish, Dedemac!! Depending on the width of border, you may want to consider quilting them. With washing, these will likely get too puffy. You could just do straight lines with your walking foot and space them out enough to ensure border stays flat...or a squiggly, wavy line down the center would be good, too. That's my opinion but others may feel differently.

Not a fan of the walking foot, but have no problems with squiggly lines.

Teen 03-29-2019 05:46 PM

Yes...That might be best anyway, Dedemac....Since it is already binded, anything too detailed will cause puckers cuz you can't smooth out as you go. Such a great quilt!!

rryder 03-30-2019 04:41 AM

Cool quilt, Dedemac! Congratulations on finishing!

Hey! I finished one! Baby quilt for charity. I got 8 yards of this fabric at the thrift store for only $7.99 and I'm going to make 3 or 4 baby quilts, using a different FMQ motif each time. This time did a concentric circle that sort of looks like windy clouds.
