Oh my gosh!! I have not checked in on this post in several days. Wow! So many finished projects. I have enjoyed looking through the posts... it's like going to a quilt show. Congrats everyone!!

WMUTeach: My church group ties the quilts and uses sheets on the back which they fold over to the front. Our fearless ‘almost 87’ leader sews the edging to the front with an industrial machine. They then donate it. We are almost to 7000 quilts. I can’t remember when the group started but I have been part of it for many years.

Everyone is really accomplishing a lot...that's fantastic. My quilts at LA'er may get applied to February....don't think if I'll get them back in time for January. I have two more ready for LA and both are UFO's...so, that leaves me with only one UFO left, which is a BOM that was packed up. I have it out and strategized its finish....but that new quilt project keeps staring at me...lol.. |
Just quilted one UFO. I'll trim it and send to some one else for binding. Picks later.

Yes, wowzers! to the dedicated quilters in your church, Connie.
I finally found time to start on the large UFO. It had been hand basted for quilting on a DSM, so first had to take the stitches out, then in was all wrinkly at the folds from being folded so long. Got it pressed and made the first pass with a panto graph. Hopefully will be done by the 31st but who knows? |
Yippee!! Another UFO finished. I started this Christmas wall hanging last year, but it stalled when it was time to make bias binding and glue all the doodads down. It is now finished.

The 9 blocks were assembled by an unknown person and found in a donation. I sewed the blocks together and wanted to put it on point like Jenny Doan did in one of her videos but I didn’t have enough solid fabric to make the huge corners. I found the bird fabric and the green fabric and liked the combination with the 14.5” finished blocks. Because I needed it longer, I added another color for the top and bottom. My next UFO project was in a different donation bag and has 4 rows of 3 blocks and sashings already sewn. I hope there is enough fabric for the horizontal sashings. The backing was also in the donation but my church group uses sheets so I will be adding that to my stash or, maybe, giving it to Bundles of Love for baby quilt backings. I hope to finish that this week.
