Yessssssssssssssss can't wait to see the finished GTSB!! It doesn't have to be fast, you just have to finish one day.

Will admit that I'd never heard of Jen Kingwell until I found this thread on Q Board. I'm in love with all of her wonderful patterns, but Gypsy Wife is my favorite. The pattern is not easy to find, but I was lucky to purchase it on Etsy. I am planning to make mine in bold, bright colors ... love the "wild" and wonderful look of Anael's. Thanks, Anael for sharing your beautiful work of art and for initiating this challenge on the Q Bd.

Nita...welcome to this thread. I've been a looker, these designs are on my bucket list! The friendly folks here will some day see some results from me!
Don't hold your breath, Anael! |
Welcome, Nita!!! Can't wait to see your own version of GW. My GW is kitted up and ready to go. Hope to start it soon... In the mean time, we'll be cheering you on. Please share progress pics!!
|
Welcome Nita and thank you for the compliments!! Please share pictures of your GW as you go!! Can't wait to see your blocks!
OK, I won't....I caught a cold and having trouble breating so I won't try to hold my breath :D |
I guess I will have to wait until you feel better.:D
|
Well you can start deciding which pattern, sorting your fabrics and make kits so you're all set to go :D
|
Feel better soon, Anael!! Healing hugs!!

So today I went to a new shop that sells sewing machines/LA/embroidery machines etc.... They sell Babylock's so that had a vast collection of assessories.... I finally bought the ruler foot for my machine. I've been cheating using regular darning foot so I haven't gone crazy doing ruler work but I have wanted to expand FMQ on domestic so I bought it today....and a couple of rulers. I really wanted this to FMQ my Happy Birds quilt so I can now start it. I have already sandwiched so I'm good to go. So happy!! I practiced on my most recent mini quilt and it works wonderfully. Can't wait to get this quilt to sister... Alrighty then...just had to share...
|
That's great Teen!! Can't wait to see your FMQ'ing. I love ruler work.
For a minute I thought you were going to tell us you purchased an embroidery machine :D |

Thanks ladies! I went for a ride today, handkerchief in one hand :D
Here's one of the pics. It's taken standing in a small dome on the highest hill we have here in Overijssel. I think you would call it a molehill :D :D :D |
And the fresh air did you good!
I was surprised when I saw earlier photos...you actually have a hill in Holland! You would be amazed at the hills around our place! Lovely photos as always! |
Lovely and very artistic!!
|
Great photo Anael. The view is wonderful!
|
Thank you all!!!!!

Weird, the posts of this week are missing. I don't see them anymore. Last one I'm seeing is from February 23rd.
|
Perhaps a "screenshot" of FB is against the rules and was deleted by admin? Just guessing...
|
I have no idea.
|
Oopsy, I didn't think about the Facebook screenshot. It is a big no no here. I was glad to see your photo here before it was deleted. I think your only allowed to provide a link. (maybe??)
|
OH really? I didn't know that. It was my own quilt though......but rules are rules I guess. A link wouldn't work as it's a closed group so you wouldn't be able to see it.
|
We saw it and are so proud!!!
|
Thank you, thank you :)

Finally finished the hand applique on applique block #5. Took me awhile. Still have to soak it. Getting closer to sewing sections together. Congratulations Anael, love your GW quilt. I may need to make that next! |
Gail...that is really pretty. The background fabrics are a perfect blend with your colorway... Finish line in sight!!
|
THank you Gail!
Your blocks are gorgeous. Like Teen I think that background fabric is perfect. |
I just saw a stunning Bakers Dozen on Facebook. Now I want to toss mine and start all over again.
The one I saw is in yellows, pinks and teals with a hint of dark blue. I might have to make another BD, like I needed to make more GW's :D :D :D |
Anabel, I just saw your beautiful photo and cannot help thinking what a wonderful landscape quilt this would create. What with the brick archway and all!
|
Oops ... typing error ... I meant Anael and it came out as Anabel. So sorry
|
Anabel is ok too :D :D
Thank you!! Feel free to make it! |
Anael,
Can I get a link to the Jen Kingwell Facebook page? I looked but don't think it's the right one. |
There are several Kingwell groups on Facebook. I'll PM you.
|
That does sound pretty, Anael... I'll go look for it...
|
Teen, it might be in the Bakers Dozen group and in the Jen Kingwell group. I think she posted that quilt in both groups but I'm not sure.

Was finally to the point of joining the last few sections of my LTG when I discovered that my checkerboard on the left was upside down and didn’t match up to sections 5/6 (sigh) so I had to rip it out and flip it over. All that’s left are the borders. : 0

Love it!! So bright and cheery!
|
But it looks great now, jmoore! Still loving that yellow Grunge.
|
Jmoore Love your quilt. You have inspired me to buy the pattern. Can't wait to start.
Yes, I'm to the assembly part of my Green Tea and Sweet Beans. One section isn't wide enough and I need to add a small strip of fabric. Oh well. Should be able to post some pictures later today of the whole right half of the quilt. Bought the Gypsy Wife pattern yesterday. My list of what to do next is growing. |
