I’m sure it is! What a beautiful piece of property...Teen, I saw a Bring Me Flowers quilt on display at a recent quilt show here in Maine and love it...although I said I wasn’t going to tackle another Jen Kingwell pattern for a while, I may have to buy the pattern. LOL

I have finally gotten the nerve to load my Long Time Gone on my new LA and will practice ruler work.

Anael, love your eye for photography and envious of your ability to capture nature.

Thank you!!!

Your own LA! .....I can only dream of one.......it's never going to happen. Your LTG is beautiful, can't wait to see it quilted!

Blue Bell 08-08-2019 10:38 AM

Jmoore, your quilt is awesome. I have been quilting for quite a while, but I would never attempt a Kingwell quilt. You All impress me with your spectacular work.

Anael 08-08-2019 10:51 AM

Blue Bell, Long Time Gone is completely pieced, no appliqué and no strips like the Gypsy Wife. Just have a look at finished tops and you will see how it's done. Long Time Gone is really not hard to do.

Blue Bell 08-08-2019 11:15 AM

Anael, I know, I probably have done all of these blocks at one time or another. Maybe some day. I am at the stage in my life that I need to do simple and quick quilts! But maybe if I see the book, I will buy it and become hooked on Jen Kingwell quilts.

jmoore 08-08-2019 05:58 PM

Blue Bell, after having done the Gypsy Wife...and it taking more than a year...I thought I would not do another Jen Kingwell pattern. Guess what, I enjoyed Long Time Gone even more...besides, I did it as a monthly sew along with a Modern Quilt guild and it was easier to work a few blocks at a time.

Blue Bell 08-08-2019 06:26 PM

jmoore, You are lucky to have a guild to sew along with making this quilt. I don't know of anyone in my area that is working on any Jen Kingwell quilts. I haven't even seen the patterns in the quilt stores. I like the Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt, so maybe some day.

Teen 08-08-2019 08:50 PM

Jmoore..still loving your LTG...really gorgeous and a perfect quilt to practice on LA/ruler work. Lots of fun designs to play with... I have only seen one Being Me Flowers quilt up close and it was gorgeous. Like Happy Birds, there are a lot curved piecing in BMF but that's part of the challenge. So glad it inspired you to maybe give it a go. I have a few projects before I can get to that one...mainly the Gypsy Wife...and a couple of garden quilts that are all kitted up and ready. I hope by first of year....Anael said she might join me then...maybe you could join then too?

Blue Bell....join the fun... The GTSB is a blast to do....just one block at a time...one section at a time.

Teen 08-08-2019 09:05 PM

Oh...thank you, jmoore....my new home is being built on a beautiful piece of land and my view is incredible. My home build is coming along. They are so fast. The windows were installed last week..yea!! Cannot wait!

Blue Bell 08-09-2019 05:44 AM

Teen, When do you expect to be in your new home? What a fabulous location!

Teen 08-09-2019 06:48 AM

Thank you! It's going up so fast, Blue Bell, that maybe October or early November. We'll know more after this week cuz they are installing the drywall starting today and next week, the exterior siding and roof. We have completed picking out everything from lighting to appliances. It's been a blast!

Blue Bell 08-09-2019 03:37 PM

How wonderful that you will soon be in your new home, Teen.

Hahaha...we know who rules here....

jmoore 08-17-2019 03:30 AM

Anael, I always enjoy your photos and now I am reminded that I have not even taken my Nikon out of the closet all summer. :(

Anael 08-17-2019 03:55 AM

Thank you!! You have a Nikon too? Which one?

jmoore 08-18-2019 03:17 AM

I have a D200 which I purchased more than 10 years ago... even though there are fancier and much lighter Nikons out there, it’s an awesome camera and I still love it.

Anael 08-18-2019 10:38 AM

You're happy with it and that's what counts. I always have to laugh when I read.......oh you have a brand new camera. Now you can take beautiful pictures.........
Mine isn't the latest model either. I purchased it about 3 years ago, it was hardly used when I got it. I'm still very happy with my Nikon too.

Anael 09-17-2019 04:09 AM

It's quiet here. I guess Teen is busy building her new home :) Can't wait to see new pictures!

I'm in the process of finishing the 365 challenge quilt. Finally!! I'm not making all the blocks, I don't need another huge and very heavy quilt. Only one 6" finished block to go, sew the last border on and done........LOL. Now to do it!
CU when I've finished.

juliasb 09-17-2019 04:40 AM

Faciniating! Each of the blocks are beautiful and exciting in their own way.

So that's what you've been up to! I've been moving my sewing room to the LA room. In the process I'm switching 3 closets around and moving a bed. Meanwhile have finished some UFO's I have encountered while switching. GW will have to wait for a while! I counted up my big UFO's...way too many! Have finished 2 and a small one. #3 is on the LA now.

Anael 09-17-2019 05:50 AM

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh, great to finish UFO's. But you have great helpers :D :D Did you get rid of some stuff while moving things around?

I started sewing again yesterday. I've been riding my bike a lot and didn't feel like sewing or quilting. Now I really have to get my behind in gear and finish a few tops. The weather has cooled down a lot this week so it's nice to sew again. Tomorrow I might go on a FART and purchase some garment fabrics.

The last block is done, the border finished. Now I have to pin the border on the quilt, sew it on and voila, another UFO crossed off the list!!

That is gorgeous! With all those blocks, I can see why it was a UFO.

Forgot to ask: What is the pattern name for this gorgeous quilt?

Oh they are creating tops, Anael..need to start them on the LA so they can get them done! I moved knit fabrics out that will be donated to an organization that makes layettes...hope to get that taking care of next week. Have a bag of poly batting for charity sewers to use.

Hard to tell...do you have this beauty quilted...if not how are you going to do it?

Blue Bell 09-17-2019 05:42 PM

Aneal, your quilt is absolutely stunning.

Teen 09-17-2019 09:12 PM

Gorgeous, my friend!! Your 365 is absolutely stunning... I love it!!

Hi to all!! Anael is right.... Busy with house. Interior painted last week and cabinet installation began today!!! Woohoo!

Anael 09-17-2019 09:45 PM

Thanks all! It's the 365 challenge quilt. It's a BOM, 365 blocks (I didn't do that many) running the whole year. It starts again next year.
It's not quilted yet OK and I don't know how to quilt it. Maybe just SID. Too many seams!!

Mkotch 09-20-2019 01:42 AM

Been busy and happy quilting My Small World, but finished yesterday. So now it's on to the finishing - hand work, mostly. I have a few commemorative pins I want to add and a patch for embellishment. Liking it more and more, but am anxious to begin Long Time Gone next.

I've been thinking about this..a Baptist Fan might be nice or some other repetitive design overall.

Managed a few blocks on the 365 last night...Anael you have inspired me...

Oh and folks...check out the Quilt of the Week...looks kind of familiar! Congrats, Anael! gotta go...work today.

Anael 09-21-2019 10:40 AM

Thank you, thank you :) :)

Congrats on starting again OK!

Teen 09-21-2019 04:03 PM

Looking forward to seeing your MSW, Mktoch!

Congrats, Anael, on quilt of the week! Well deserved!

Anael 09-22-2019 07:55 AM

Thank you Teen!

Judith1005 09-23-2019 03:40 PM

Anael, Beautiful finish on your 365. I have seen several of these finished from all the blocks to a certain number of blocks. And, they are all impressive!

Congrats on your Gypsy Wife making quilt of the week this week! It really is a fun scrappy quilt.

Anael 09-26-2019 10:16 PM

Thanks Judith!

I've been pecking away at Long Time Gone, just following the book. The blocks take longer than I thought they would but I am enjoying the journey. Here are the first blocks.

Anael 10-08-2019 01:40 AM

Great looking blocks!! They do take their time, those blocks :D
