Lovely blocks, Mkotch.

Blue Bell 10-08-2019 05:05 PM

Love your blocks, Mkotch. Beautiful fabrics.

Teen 10-08-2019 06:51 PM

Oh...I love your LTG blocks, Mkotch...beautiful colorway... Glad you are enjoying this pattern.

jmoore 10-10-2019 02:43 AM

Anael, your quilt is fabulous and I can only imagine how wonderful it feels to have it finished...well worth the time and energy.

Mkotch, I am loving your color scheme for your LTG. I can’t wait to see how it comes together.

Anael 10-10-2019 03:54 AM

Thank you Jmoore!

Judith1005 10-28-2019 06:33 AM

Hello ladies,

Long time no see.

Anael, Love your birdie photos. They made me laugh. That bird in the second picture had such an expression!

I haven't been quilting or sewing much. I lost another of my quilting helpers a couple of weeks ago. That's 2 in the last 6 months. It kind of put me in a funk. But, I'm working through it. I did get in the last couple of weeks borders on 5 old old projects. The backings are all made and ready to go out to the LA'r. It's nice to see a couple of UFO's finished up.

I also started a QAL that Pat Sloan is having on her site. It's called Winter Fun. Looks like it will be great for using a nice printed focal fabric. https://www.ilovetomakequilts.com/wi...sew-along.html It should finish up by Dec. 11. Since I don't have my grands here to enjoy, I thought I'd follow along. It will give me something to do.

Anael 10-28-2019 06:52 AM

Thank you Judith!! Welcome back :)
Congrats on finishing some UFO's !

I haven't been sewing much either. Summer got in the way! Now I started again, working on a pokemon quilt for one of the grands. He watched me embroider one pokemon and said 'wow, that will take a long time before all pokemons are done' ........hahahaha

I am still chipping away at Long Time Gone. Those churn dashes were something else - took forever, but now they are done. I feels so nice to flip the page in the pattern book and move on to Courthouse Steps!

Anael 11-10-2019 09:03 AM

Looking good!
I didn't like making all those tiny churn dashes so I made a few, switched to other blocks and came back to do some more.

oksewglad 11-10-2019 10:03 AM

And I love those little Churn Dashes! Sew delightful Mkotch.

Finally managed to get a picture of My Small World at my guild's show and tell.

Teen 11-10-2019 01:55 PM

Mkotch....oh wow...your LTG is gorgeous so far. So glad the churn dashes are behind you now. This is going to be a stunner when done. And, your Small World is fabulous! Just Fabulous!

Anael 11-10-2019 11:35 PM

Oh I love your Small World!!

SusieQOH 11-15-2019 05:54 AM

I have that pattern!!! Yours is fabulous!!!!!!! Haven't started mine yet.

Anael 11-15-2019 06:20 AM

When will you start SusieQOH?

Anael 11-19-2019 07:08 AM

My Christmas Gypsy is on the table. I'm about to start sandwiching her. I need to find out how to quilt her. I don't think an all over design will suit her.

Teen 11-19-2019 07:42 PM

Good for you, Anael! She's a beaut and deserves to be finished. I can't offer Quilting ideas but I loved how you quilted your first one.

Anael 11-20-2019 05:36 AM

I started the quilting process. Already made two birds nests and I have no idea what's happening. Fancy stitching in the strips with my Bernina and FMQ'ing with the Juki. Now to find a purpose for the Brother and I have all three of them set up for one quilt :D :D :D

oksewglad 11-20-2019 06:31 AM

When all's finished with GW, you can bind it using the Brother...Oh Brother! You will get it done in fine shape...

Anael 11-20-2019 06:41 AM

Oh Brother LOL. Yes I could hahahaha
I'm using the Juki for the binding. It has a really nice 1/4" foot which I like a lot.
So, no use for the Brother I'm afraid. Not this time. So sorry Brother :D :D :D

Anael 11-22-2019 10:32 PM

Now I'm using both Bernina and Juli for FMQ'ing. The Bernina threaded with green, the Juki with red :D :D :D
Still no use for the Brother LOL

Anael 11-27-2019 01:09 PM

She's finished. No Brother involved........:D Pictures tomorrow.
Next one (Bakers Dozen) is waiting downstairs but I need to set up the embroidery machine and make some small stuff.
Then it's time to cut batting for BD.

oksewglad 11-27-2019 03:55 PM

Can't wait to see it, Anael...your Brother must be lonely...maybe he needs to go on a bike ride:D

Anael 11-28-2019 04:36 AM

I'll ask Brother hahahahahaaaaa. Don't think it's a good idea though LOL

Here is Santa's Wife. Finished, quilted and bound. No close ups though. It's not the best work I did on quilting. Both machines had their own problems and I had my problems with both machines ;)
But it's done, onward to the next UFO.

Blue Bell 11-28-2019 04:49 AM

Anael,
Another beautiful quilt and just in time for Christmas.

oksewglad 11-28-2019 06:20 AM

So right, Blue Bell. From the pictures, the colors give a very bohemian look.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans here. It will be a quiet day as family was home last weekend.

Judith1005 11-28-2019 11:42 AM

Woah Anael, another great quilt!! It's amazing how each quilt is the same pattern. But, looks so different then the other done in different fabrics!

Barb in Louisiana 11-28-2019 11:57 AM

Anael, I love your Santa's Wife (Gypsy Wife) quilt. It's gorgeous. Your understanding of these patterns and use of color is wonderful.

toverly 11-28-2019 12:15 PM

Wow, Anael, What a beautiful Christmas Santa's Wife. I may have to add to my stash of Christmas and make one.

Anael 11-28-2019 12:36 PM

Thank you all so very much!!

If you make one too toverly, please share here! Would love to see it!

Teen 11-28-2019 07:49 PM

Beautiful, Anael! Proud of you for getting this beauty quilted....just in time for the holidays, too! Wonderful work, as usual!

Teen 11-29-2019 04:25 PM

Anael 11-29-2019 10:40 PM

Wow Teen, those flowers are really gorgeous!! Great to know you have set up the sewing room in your new home :)

ckcowl 11-30-2019 05:27 AM

Oh I Love your *Santa’s Wife* Quilt! It is just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

ILoveToQuilt 12-02-2019 03:18 PM

Well, here I am. Ready to join the Kingwell group. Have just bought the LTG pattern and pulled all my fabrics from my stash with exception of the grey solid. I also own the GW pattern, but put it away and now can't find it. Will work on my LTG and then go to the GW when I find it. I am so into scrappy quilts lately and these seem to be right up my alley.

I love the Santa's Wife that was posted above.

I will post more when I have some blocks done. I am anticipating a "smooth" ride on the LTG quilt. I don't want any serious challenges right now and it looks like LTG is a quilt I can make without too much trouble. I am excited to be making this project and I am open to suggestions.

BTW, are there any corrections to the LTG pattern that I need to be aware of? Thanks in advance for pointing in the right direction for them.

Anael 12-02-2019 10:25 PM

Welcome Anita to our group!! Nice to have you here :)
LTG is a straight forward quilt, no applique, no trouble making it. No corrections either. Just read the pattern carefully and you'll be find.
Looking forward to seeing your blocks!!

ILoveToQuilt 12-03-2019 06:29 AM

Thank you for the warm welcome. I need it as it is very cold and we have about 24 inches of snow on the ground with more falling!

One last question: do you make all the blocks for the entire quilt first and then put together in sections or do you put together the sections as the blocks for that particular section are complete? (I hope I am asking this clearly). I am thinking of making them all, then putting everything together.

I am glad there are no corrections to this pattern. Thanks again for the welcome and hopefully I can start my blocks today in between snow shoveling. :)

Anael 12-03-2019 06:56 AM

You're very welcome! Snow..........wow!!! I hope we won't get any any time soon :)

I made my blocks as I liked them, no specific order. No complete section either :D I pinned the blocks on my design wall and decided which color I needed and which one I wanted to make next. Sometimes I get bored of doing the same over and over again so I moved on to another section/block.

Mkotch 12-04-2019 02:46 AM

Anael, gorgeous Santa's Wife! I haven't made this pattern but it's the first Kingwell that caught my eye. Maybe someday I'll work on it.

My work on the LTG quilt has stalled a bit with Christmas on the horizon. I needed to get my better machine cleaned so am using my older one and working on hand applique in the meantime. LTG needs a bit of precision so I'll work on that when my machine comes back.

Anael 12-05-2019 02:13 AM

Thanks ladies!!
Mkotch, I hope your machine will be home soon!

The Gypsy Wife was the first Kingwell I saw and fell in love with too. Then I discovered she had more designs. The rest is history :D :D :D I think about another Gypsy Wife but I need to whisper because my personal mentor isn't allowed to hear that hahahaha. I need to finish some UFO's first! I promised her I wouldn't start another project before finishing those UFO's. But I can think about it now can I?
