So just what are the FB folks barking about? I think that spinning seams is the best thing for me since I found a scant 1/4" foot for my vintage Singers. I made a topper last week and while quilting it with my rulers I ran into some joints that were pretty thick. Spinning those seams would have made quilting easier. Lucky for me, my Singers go through anything I throw at them.

That people would dare do something different then how Bonnie says it IS to be done, mostly. How spinning seams is ONLY for 4 patches, can't be done for any other type of seaming. Giving angry faces to anyone who answers a question about spinning seams, especially if you post a picture that shows it done. That kind of stuff.

Kassaundra, I can only shake my head at those self appointed quilt police. Then I just have to laugh and wonder what their reaction would be if they found out that there are people who press their seams open, which, btw, is how I press my seams. Well, I still need to finish my turquoise strips, but I have started to put my 9 - patches together ....... and my seams are all pressed open ..... lol.

IKR!!! I don't press open as a rule, but do it whenever it works best. I do a lot of blocks that have 40+ pieces in them pressing open is the only way to keep sane sometimes.

Amen to that!! The younger generation just is not interested in quilting. I really appreciate the ones that do!!

Thank you NZquilter for starting this thread. I am so excited to be doing another Bonnie Hunter Mystery along side you great quilters! I have my clue 1 done will post picture tomorrow. Loving all the fabric choices and viewing the clue 1 units.

Sync, I pressed my seams open too. Earlier this year, i worked on the "Summer Picnic" a weekly quilt a long on the board with so many of these 9 patches, I swore I would never make these tiny guys again. So hard to make accurate. But here I am again. These colors are so bright, it is a nice change for me. The biggest challenge is trying to use just my stash and strip storage container. Yours look so scrappy and bright. I find that type of thing so bizarre. There is not only one way to do things. Weaving can be the same way, there have been huge uproars on how to beam a warp on a loom. I was hoping quilters would be more reasonable, but there is some in every bunch:-)
