I should have clarified - the Mocha Stars picture I posted is from Kim Diehl's pattern and book - mine is still mostly in hundreds of pieces.
I love all of her patterns and I made one small applique tabletopper a few years ago from one of her designs - not bordered, quilted or bound, yet - of course. 🤪 |

My sew-jo mojo left for a little while but I just waited and was patient and kind to myself. Seems to be coming back. Basted 2 tonight. Both are feeling leafy meander....which I don't know how to do- so some research and practice is in order before moving forward.
Just a reminder to everyone to be kind to yourself. |

Petthefabric: Love the Forest Fire Log Cabin quilt!
thepolyparrot: That will be a beautiful quilt when you have it assembled. Vasilisa: Congratulations on finishing your 4th UFO! Pied Piper: Sad to hear all of you had COVID. Sounds like you had a great reason to start another project. Rff1010: I’m glad your sewing mojo is slowly coming back. I finished a very small UFO. It was an appliqué class for a tea towel from my LQS in 2019. I was working on it today and suddenly decided to make it a wall hanging. 🤷♀️ It’s 12.5” by 17.25”. The appliqué pattern is from Home Grown by Nancy Halvorson. |
Congratulations on finishing this cute applique, retiredteacher09- I can see why you wanted to turn it into a wallhanging. much too cute to be tucked away in a drawer.

Ah sweet, Connie, The hearts have morphed into butterflies...to my eyes any way!
|
That's darling, retiredteacher!
|
retiredteacher, that’s such a cute mini. Congrats on the finish.
|
Thanks for the compliments!
I started to work on my next UFO - a pillow covering with appliqué. I have the top part of the covering ready to quilt. Then I need to remember how to download the appliqué embroidery design. 🤔. Hopefully, it is downloaded already on a flash drive or on my machine. 🤞 |

Another forest fire UFO. Another green with a different arrangement of blocks. I think this arrangement is called furrows.
Attachment 632550 Looking at this picture, I see that one of the squares is turned. It's finished. Not changing it. Oh Yeh! I meant it that way!LOL |
Have another Q on the LA to quilt tomorrow. Have a full day Wed. So I tallied my finishes for March: 6. Posts: 260,295,309,327,352 and 370.
|
Way to go petthefabric. Congrats on all your finishes.
|
That’s fantastic, petthefabric!

Outstanding Petthefabric! You are defiantly on a roll, keep a steady pace!

Well I managed to get my daughter’s birthday quilt finished in the Nick of time- finished the binding Sunday afternoon- her birthday was Monday. Even with a Huge error it turned out great and she loves it. It is really big- much larger than I expected when I planned it ( 104” x 106”)
my 2020 Temperature Quilt- I chose flying geese blocks with the large center triangles being the high temp for the day and the two small corners the low temperature. All 366 blocks were made from scraps the only yardage being the Jinny Beyer border print. im glad it’s over. Didn’t think I would ever get it finished. So a ( scrap completion and a ufo completion, along with staying true to my fabric moratorium)- the only money I had to spend on this whole quilt was $12 for a yard of binding fabric- |
ckcowl; congratulations, beautiful
|
Ckkowl - lovely work. I'm putting a temperature quilt on my "someday" list. But today's not that day!
|
Got another quilted. Thursday the binding will get finished.
Still have 8 more to quilt. Perseverence. |
ckcowl, it turned out just beautiful - and you get bonus points for using up scraps! ;)
petthefabric, you are on a ROLL! Love your furrows quilt. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gif I was hoping to have my grandmother's poly knit rail fence finished but I didn't have any fabric that goes with the front and the wild 70s backing flannel, so it will have to be an April finish, unless the fabric gets here tomorrow. I broke not one but TWO sewing machines this week. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wave.gif Waiting on brushes for my dear old 15-91 and hoping that's all it is. The little "plastic" machine I used only for applique and buttonholes is no real loss, but I do need to find another machine that will do those stitches. |
What a beauty ckcowl. Congrats on your finish.
|
Gorgeous temperature quilt, ckcowle. Congratulations on getting it finished!

I have a UFO finish for March, but no picture yet. Hopefully by the end of the day. Just wanted to make sure it gets added to the March count.

Well I brought it in just under the wire....
presenting the scraptastic Grandpa's Shirt donation for Project Linus. It won't win any beauty contest but that green plaid reminded me of a grandpa shirt and there's got to be some kid out there that could use a remote grandpa hug via a quilt. 44x44 finished size. 100% stash - no new purchase. |
Good evening UFO'ers, thought I better say a few words just to keep my foot in the door. Boy, the quilts that everyone is sharing are great and congratulations on your finishes for this month of March. I have as always did my mask making, but I've been helping one of my 'Gen-X cousin learn to sew. In the process I have completed one apron (child size) that I cut out about seven years ago. I made me a pair of pajamas for my trip to Kansas in a few days. And I made another apron and chef's cap (child size) for my youngest great-granddaughter.
So, I've been lurking around the thread and very interested in what this month count will be, you all have been cranking them out. Stay safe and hope we have a pleasant spring cherryb |
petthefabric: I like your furrows quilt. Congratulations on getting your UFOs done.
ckcowl: Congratulations on finishing your quilt in time for your daughter’s birthday. It is lovely. thepolyparrot: Oh no to your machines! Rff1010: Very nice! Someone will be happy to cuddle with it. cherrybsixty: Awesome to helping a cousin learn to sew and finishing projects. Have a safe trip. |

Very nice ckcowl! I have a few quilts to finish..lots and lots of fabric in my stash..at almost 85 I am finding lots of challenges..I made three quilted mixer covers and hope to get a couple more made for two of my daughters who want different colors than the two I have. I made one for me and 0ne for my older daughter so I'm in the process of getting the material quilted for daughter # 2 .
|
Rff1010, I love the shirt quilt, it looks so homey.
|
Welcome, AlaskaAlice! The mixer covers sound like a great way to use up fabric.

Hey all,
I finished this UFO on the last day of March, but didn't get pics until last night. This one has been in the UFO pile for 3 or 4 years now. It's about 40"w x 50"l. Thanks for looking, Rob |
Rob; love it

Is this pieced? Appliqued? Both? Thread painting? Wholecloth painted by you? So interesting - I see ocean waves and coral and sea creatures, but from another direction, it's like ferns unfurling around a pond. Very pretty! |

April UFO done!
This is my grandmother's hand-sewn textured poly knit quilt from the 70s - she backed it with a sheet and tied it. The thread was crumbling and I just kept putting off trying to repair it - it's been nagging me from my closet shelf for years! :D I re-sewed every seam, then backed it with this really nice "mod 70s" looking flannel and no batting - this quilt is heavy, already. It looks washed out on top because of the shop light over my ironing table, but the whole quilt is bright as can be. It's in my living room now, to welcome Easter, because it's always reminded me of a beautiful Easter basket. Nagging, no more. :) |
Your grandmother had a great color sense....Congrats on a great finish, the polyparrot!
|
Welcome Alaska Alice, we love pix
Thanks 'the polyparrot,' for the encouragement petthefabric, a beautiful finish, congratulations Rob, another great beauty, congratulations thepolyparrot, loving the grandmother makeover, congratulations I made it to Kansas and speaking to everyone on the phone and saying my hellos Stay safe everyone cherryb |
