Lenny,
Save the triangles, you can use them in a scrappy quilt down the road. Have you heard of Bonnie K. Hunter http://www.quiltville.com/ ? She has a brand new book out "Adventures with Leaders & Enders" and those extra triangles are used to make striking scrappy quilts. Take a look, you may find something you like - there are lots of free patterns listed on her sidebar ;)
When I was putting together some blocks, yesterday, I marked the blocks on the 'original' line to be sewn (1/2-square triangles) then marked a line 1/2" from the 'original' line; sewed on both lines, then cut the "extra triangle" off for my orphan bin (as I call it).
Here's a picture - these are bonus blocks from just this one block

Gwyn,
Wish I could take credit. I'm just glad I remember to do it
It's so much easier than cutting the triangles off and then sewing back together and they match up better too (at least mine do)...
Quicker...that's what I like ;)
