Your blocks look wonderful, Lisa! I haven't got through Clue #6 yet, so I haven't put any blocks together. But I agree with you about seeing small pieces of a fabric and thinking they look special. I have been taking my time. so I don't feel pressure to accomplish so much at one time. I'll be looking forward to seeing your next step.

Lisa your blocks are pretty, I love that plaid piece.
I find that when joining the parallelograms to the blocks there is a place in the block that the shaded four patch, the geese and the paralleo's all converge it just makes for a lumpish area. Uggh not fun to sew or press.
I put another row on this evening,I'm going to rest my hands tomorrow, clean up my sewing area. Find the bits and pieces of my last quilt that I had underway before I started this one. I need a break.

Lisa- your blocks are looking really pretty.

I'm right there with everyone who is getting tired of working on this quilt! I have 28 blocks made, but have now gotten to the point where even though I'm chain piecing the blocks construction (which means I've got parts of 3 different blocks under the needle at the same time) I find myself stopping after every single completed block gets taken off the chain to go do something else, like looking at QB LOL!

I have been pressing nearly all my seams open in the block making process (I didn't press any unit seams open) It seems to make for less bulky seams.

I was just looking at the photos I've saved of people's progress on the mystery, and I found what I think is the best version I've seen. Unfortunately, I can't share it because I didn't save a link. This person used a very dark green as her blue. Because her 'blue' and brown are the same value, she did not make a clue 4. Her clue six is an HST with her orange and dark green (her blue). For her sashing, she used a lighter green (her blue), rather than the orange.

The result of these changes is that her quilt sparkles at a distance; it's the only version I've seen that's close to Bonniie's but doesn't dissolve into mush in the long view. I think the crucial aspects are the very dark 9-patch, the sashing being a different color from the coral, but lighter, and the simplification of the clue 6, which gives the block more clarity. Sorry I can't share a photo!

A week of dealing with "fibro" brain and having to rip out many times was so frustrating. Yesterday my brain started functioning back to normal and so glad to be able to finally post my quilt top. It needs to be trimmed.

I have to congratulate you all for the wonderful, creative work you have done on your tops. The pictures are fabulous and has been an inspiration to me, Thank you all so much!

I cheated on my Ringo's Sister today and made a 24 blade dressie, felt good to work on a different pattern and different colors.
