I started with a bit of a mishap, I cut a number of strips, sewed them together and went to start cutting into the smaller pieces when I realized I cut the strips at 2 1/2" instead of 1 1/2". I sure hope this is not an indication of how my first BH mystery is going to go. I have 5 9-patches done, and preparing to finished 20 more. I have not yet decided how big I am going to make the quilt, so I can always make more if I go full size. I had to stop where I was because I had to (drumroll here) go and pick up my new-to-me serger! Yahoo, more fun to be had at my house!

Lovely blocks, everyone. I was given a bag of fabric last week and one piece was a soft green with a slight aqua tinge so I switched to that. I'm now wondering about that decision since my choice for coral is so strong (it actually is gold, orangy coral with specks of dark green). So... I might be changing it as we go along. Only 6 blocks completely done but the others are sewn -- just not ironed and trimmed.

Got mine done (I'll get pictures tomorrow)-they are cute little things. I don't remember making nine-patches this small before.

The accuquilt uses an almost clear cutting surface, I call that the backer, as it sits on top of the fabric, on top of the die. These come in different sizes. The die that I used today uses the biggest of these cutting surfaces. Maybe I am using the wrong name.

Did anyone else go rogue and spin your seams?
