UFO Challenge of the Month 2012

Yes it is, but now to curve our motivation to finish what we started before we move on now that is the trick for us to learn this year. LOL

I would put them on point, find a nice complimentary fabric to frame them with a fabric to border and make a wall hanging with them. Pillows would be nice, but with all that work, would not want to have to wash them or see someone on consider them and get them dirty,

Dragonfly: I am working on the Orca Bay quilt now. I am really enjoying the process, hope you do too.
Natalie: Your blocks are beautiful! I agree with many others, a wall hanging would be gorgeous. Putting a border on them would really make them pop.
Barb: I so agree, it's a rare day that I don't find something on this site I want to make. Since I started coming here I have become a better all around quilter and enjoy the process even more.

I can finally say, I have finished something. Small somethings, but, still a finish. And, they were on my WIP list. I finished both my doll quilts for swaps I'm involved in. I can't picture them yet as they have not been mailed to they're owners yet. One is for here on the QB and the other is another swap I'm involved in. I will post photos at a later date.
All the beautiful quilts I'm seeing posted is definitely pushing me to finish my WIP's. I can't wait to start something new, but, I really am trying to stay focused on my WIP's. Thank you Ladies for helping me stay on track.

Well friends, my UFO challange has been derailed!
I run a word of mouth alterations and repair business out of my sewing room. Well a few months ago my little town started a facebook sight for community sales, freecycle and trade ect. So somebody was looking for someone to replace a zipper in a coat. One of my co-workers gave up my name and number.... and OhMy!! I have been getting a call or two a day. So I am a busy gal as I only do that on the weekends as I do work full time. Today I did 4 zippers in winter coats, 6 hems, zipper and repairs to a heavy set of coveralls and fixed a set of curtians. Got 4 pair of jeans to work next and 2 more winter coats on the call list. One of those zips was for DH who's been waiting on a heavy zipper for his coat. (no money there, heehee) Plus I have orders for 8 of those cute over the oven door kitchen towels.
So it seems my business is running away with itself. Half of me hopes this goes well, will help pay for the house renos, and the other halfs saying...darn I sould be finnishing up some oft those quilting projects that I want to sell. As this is sure money for now, I know the quilting will keep.
So friends, I will keep looking at your progress and when I get something of my own done, I will post.
Good luck to all,
MisDixie

Wow! I haven't checked in for a few days and had a lot to catch up on. It is great seeing everyone's work!
Vanogay: Congratulations on the finishing of your 14 yr UFO. Your hand quilting is beautiful.
Ckcowl: love the owl quilt.
I finished a quilt yesterday. Can't really say it was a UFO. Was a "practice" quilt for my new longarm. Got halted when the machine needed some work. Repairman got it up and running on Thursday and I was finally able to finish it. Now, I can concentrate on my UFO's.
Someone asked how UFO's come into being. Well, for me, it is attending workshops and starting a class project that does not get finished at the workshop. I get home and already have another project on the table that I want to finish before I return to the workshop one and they just start to pile up.
Enjoyed looking at all the pictures and reading everyone's comments. Guess I better head back to the sewing machine so that I have something to show by the end of the month.

Hey Ya'll-
I had a hard week. DH's Uncle died. We drove from Midland to Houston (10 hours) on Tues. Funeral was on Wen. Drove 5 hours from Houston to Ft Worth on Thurs. Graveside was in Ft Worth on Fri & when it was over we drove 6 hours home. DH always does the driving so I used the road time to do my frog stitching on my DGS's Solar System quilt. He's 4 months old, I've got to get this finished! I almost finished all of the frog stitching (rip-it, rip-it, rip-it.) My goal is still to finish it by the end of Jan.
I'm in awe at all of the UFO's that Ya'll finished while I was gone! Ya'll are such an inspiration.
