I was having a hard time sewing the row three stars together, so I took a break yesterday and did some mindless fabric prep for a different (easier) project. When I returned to the Unity stars, I felt mentally refreshed and it went much more smoothly.

joe’smom, your Unity looks great. ...... love the colors.

Now my Unity has run into a small problem ........ I have all the units for part 4 done and I have the right and left sides on the quilt but they were short by almost an inch. So I had to get a bit creative ........ actually I just added a 1/2” strip to each end of the rows, then for the top and bottom rows I added the 1/2” strips to the middle.

Sync, I am anticipating having to ad-lib as well with spacer fabric, since I changed the unit sizes for rows 4, 5, and 6.

I got my row 4 (half-size and outer HST flipped) side rows sewn on, and put the rest of the elements on the wall. I made the geese a little larger; you can see my ugly pinwheels, which I wish I had left neutral. They are slightly reduced in size. Any thoughts on whether or not I should use them? Alternatively, I could leave off the pinwheels and put a smallish striped border all around after the geese, and then follow with another border in my main brown floral.

Your Unity is coming along nicely, joe’smom. I kinda like those “ugly” pinwheels.

I finished putting the part 4 pinwheel stars on my Unity and the neutral squares rows are also on. I’m almost finished with the flying geese of part 5. Unfortunately, my dear hubby has half of my design “floor” space occupied with his new “gaming” recliner so I haven’t been able to get a good picture of my top so far.

Sync, I love your various shades of blue. Wish we could see the whole thing, LOL.
