I was thinking tomorrow will be the last clue also. I'm working on my part 4 HST's. I think I have enough blocks to get the second side sewn into a strip. Hopefully that part will be done yet tonight or at least tomorrow. I have one strip of the 2" squares sewn already.

So I think I will skip the last clue and finish with a couple of simple borders on the top and bottom. I have a stripe fabric for a thin first border and I'll make a thicker border with my 'main' fabric -- the pretty brown with orange flowers fabric I built my palette around and used in the center block. But that's a long way off for me; I have lots of sewing to do! I'm almost done cutting my week 7 fabrics, and then I'll have everything cut for all the rounds.

Way to go, joe’smom! Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt.

I hope to sew part 5 on tomorrow and then I will decide if I continue with part 6 or just finish it similar to your border ideas. I’m aiming for 70” by 80”.

Well I finished round 3! My excuse is that we had out of town company for 10 days, and they wouldn't allow me to touch my sewing machine! I'm seriously considering making this a wall hanging and not a full sized quilt. What are the rest of you doing?

Katie: I love your colors. Blue and gold were my high school colors. On the tops I have made of Bonnie’s, I usually go with her colors. I really need to step out of my comfort zone and try other colors. If I know what the final quilt looks like, then I am fine choosing what I like to make for the top.

I stopped at step 5. I added 2 borders to get to 70” by 80” which is the size my church quilting group prefers. When we get to meet again, we will finish the quilt and donate it.

I intend on making the quilt through round 7, and then finishing with possibly some more geese in reverse and some simple borders. I'm going at a snail's pace, though. I'm currently sewing the round 5 geese and pressing my multitude of half-sized round 4 units. I made a sample block from those, and the first one was way bigger than it should have been, so I adjusted my seam allowance a tad and the second one came out okay with some trimming. I'm kind of regretting now going half size simply because it's going to be a lot more work for that round, and I'm afraid it may look a bit odd so small. We'll see!

I was planning on getting the fabrics from Unity put away finally today but kept getting side-tracked. Lol! That’s what happens when I don’t want to finish a boring project. I’m cutting most of the smaller pieces into squares or strips so that’s why it’s taking me a while. It doesn’t help that I started 2 new projects either. One was a kit that I started to put together last fall with my own idea of a pattern. The other one is a BH pattern from her String Frenzy book but I’m not using foundation paper. This will be a leader/ender project for quite a while I’m thinking.

Connie, which is the pattern you're making from String Frenzy? BH patterns do make excellent leader/ender projects -- they go on forever, LOL.

Geese on a String. I have enough for the first row of geese. I pulled out some strings I had already assembled and ran them through my die cutter. I need to add wings yet.

My sewing area is messy with fabric from Unity, another project, and this BH one. Then the sirens go off and the neighbors ask if they can come over. They’ve never been in my house all these 19 years or so and, of course, my sewing area is in my downstairs. Lol!

I showed some of my quilt tops to the neighbor lady while we waited the worst part out.
