Default 2017 Secret Santa pre-opening party!

This is our traditional pre-opening party and gathering spot.
I will start the fun!

My secret santee has said she likes old things so I have sent her a “dress length” , so she can use it to make all the vintage goodies her little heart desires. Hint - she does not live north of me, and never buys catnip. I do hope she likes the jingles I sent.

Now- for the most important part of this party...I am bringing dark chocolate cream cheese fudge with pecans.

If you all like the idea, I thought that this year we might share the recipes for what we are bring to this shindig.
What do you think?

[h=1]Petits Fours[/h]Pillsbury Moist Supreme White Cake: Follow Egg White Recipe on back – bake 42 minutes. Cool completely on rack. Cut in 1˝” squares on rack. Trim off thin slices of sides & tops (cut tops level). Set rack over drip pan.
Glaze: 2 pounds confectioners' sugar, 2/3 cup water, 4 teaspoons lemon juice:
Combine glaze ingredients in large bowl. Beat on low speed just until blended then on high until smooth. Apply glaze evenly over tops and sides of squares, allowing excess to drip off, retain for possible 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] coat.
Let dry. Repeat if necessary to thoroughly coat squares. Keep refrigerated & covered lightly.
Decorate with flower & leaves icings. Makes 24-28

I didn't sign up in time. Where was my head? So I am a sub if needed. But I want to share my fudge recipe.

1 can of condensed milk just Carnation milk, not condensed.
2 sticks of butter, not margerine.
4 cups white sugar

Bring above to a soft ball stage. This takes over half an hour, of constant stirring and sweating. When to soft ball stage and use a candy thermometer, take off stove.

Add: 1 large package of chocolate chips...(if you haven't snacked on them while stirring)
1 cup walnuts or pecans
1 10 ounce or more package of mini marshmellows.
2 teaspoons vanilla...the good stuff and don't be nipping on that!!

Stir like crazy, until the marshmellows are all melted and incorporated.

Pour into a buttered pan and let set until cool.

Don't eat all of it at once.

Marcia

Silly me forgot to add how I make my fudge....

I can of premade cream cheese frosting
I 12 oz bag of dark chocolate chips
I cup of pecan halves

Place frosting in glass dish (I use a four cup glass measuring cup). Add chocolate chips, them microwave 30 seconds (no more) then stir, microwave another 30 seconds and stir again, repeat one more time if it is not yeast smooth (if you try to microwave it longer than 30 seconds at a time, you will destroy the chocolate chips and the fudge), after stirring. When smooth, stir in pecans and spread in a shallow, parchment lined, cake pan or on a piece of marble covered by parchment paper and sprayed with cooking spray. Allow to cool completely before cutting. (I use a pizza cutter for this, but you can use a knife.)
I have experimented with this recipe and you can use any flavor of baking chips but the mint ones that are green make a very tasty but ugly colored fudge. Just never try to make it with fluffy type frosting. It does not work.

Thank you to the dear person who posted this idea in the recipe section.

I've made a similar fudge and use raspberry chips. They are dark chocolate with a raspberry flavoring in them. So they are dark brown.

Oh my can you just imagine using cordial cherry kisses in place of the chocolate chips, and fudge frosting? Nom...nom..nom..

I hope some one remembers the booze for this party....
