Just in case you forgot Karo syrup and do not want to fight the crowds at the grocery store. I am going to try it just because it is lower in calories. I need to watch my intake during the holidays.
2 pies are in the oven now!!!!

Okay I baked 2 pies. They smell really great. The only differnece I see is that the Karo makes the pecans come up to the top and the pie looks clearer.

Here is a pic of one of my pies!!!
Yummy do I have to wait until tomorrow to eat it????? :(

Your pie looks wonderful! Pecan is a favorite of mine. That allrecipes.com is a wonderful site to find recipes. I use it quite often.

I tasted the pie and it was really good. Not as sweet as the one w/ Karo. My friends liked it. I would leave it in a shorter time the premade crust got a bit chrispy. Overall this recipe is a keeper!!!!! :D

Bebe,

Thanks for posting this recipe. Pecan pie is my favorite pie. I'm going to try it for Christmas.

bebe, what kind of crust did you use? I made a pecan pie using the one not already in a pan (Pillsbury??) This is what I always use and I swear this year it was thinner. I didn't notice it when I put it in the pan, but sure did when eating the pie!!!

As for your question Loretta. I checked out the sugar and karo
Syrup on other pecan pies. It had 1i cup karo and 1 of brown sugar and this one had 1 cup brn sugar and 1/4 white sugar. No butter and less calories.

For KD124 I used a deep dish crust that is our grocery stores generic brand. Buy the one in the foil plate or make Loretta's pie crust recipe.

I can't make crust to save my life. I tried my sis's no fail recipe one year for a holiday meal. I actually volunteered--was determined! I tried three or four times, called my sis's in tears and told her she would have to make the pies afterall. This was in the days before I bought crusts. Guess I'll have to go to the ones in foil.
