Default Watergate Salad

Had to make this just because I have not had it in a long time

Pistachio instant pudding mix
20 oz can of crushed pineapple
cup of mini marshmellos
1 1/2 c cool whip
1/4 of crushed walnuts or pecans ( optional )

dissolve the pudding in crushed pineapple and add the rest... chill and enjoy

Nuts are optional... I like it either way...

That really sounds like a good idea for tomorrow's lunch. Now, do I have the supplies or do I need to go to the store?

I used to make this salad all the time, but it didn't have that name back then...

I make one similar, just made it last night. I needed something light and tasty I could use for DH, who is bed bound for a few weeks due to foot surgery and unable to put weight on his foot for 6-8 wks. Here is my recipe:
Any flavor of dry jello, 1 can of (drained) crushed pineapple, 1 carton of small curd cottage cheese, 1 carton of cool whip,(chopped nuts if desired) stir all together well then serve or - refrigerate. For the 2 of us I use the small box of jello, small can of pineapple, small cartons of
cool whip and cottage cheese. My family's favorite flavor of jello for this is lime.

We like one similar to Gerbie. Any pkg dry jello, small curd cottage cheese, crushed pineapple, and or mandarin oranges. Nuts are optional.

I love this salad too, but am wondering where the name came from: Watergate ? Anyone know ?

It was supposedly served at the Watergate Hotel. In our family we just call it "Green Stuff"
