I agree with Steve. Home sewing machine motors are often less than 100 Watts, like 1 light bulb. Commercial machines, OTOH, are bigger motors and use more power, but that's not relevant here.

Used SM oil, TF oil, Liquid Wrench, a heat gun, undo it from the lower end, take loose the needle bar. I can still only get it to budge, something less than a hair when rocking it back and forth....

just pulled this one in from the local CL, $75 seemed like a good deal. It's been used as furniture for years, maybe decades, the cabinet is nice, the machine looked nice, but can't be turned at all...

Very helpful, thanks! So does a "K" designation mean it was made in GB? Mine is a coffin top, that was probably the kind that can also be used in a treadle, as it has the holes for a belt.

CD,I did try it bit on a Singer which requires a lot of hand, eye, and foot coordination. Next time I'll try it on one of the 2 treadles that have built in anti-reverse treadling features.
