Thanks Joe. Guess I'll have to take the bracket out. In the mean time I've taken the wires off of the three pin connector and taken the machine out. It's a Singer 101 in a beautiful cabinet.

Ive cleaned the hook and bobbin case fairly well...
Ive cleaned the hook and bobbin case fairly well without disassembly. I would still like to take them apart just incase I have a tread jam in the future. Does anyone have any suggestions?

As a temporary fix for my broken take up arm I'm us a metal eyelet as a replacement. In two of these pictures you can se me using a singer 99 to measure and bend the metal to the approximate size.

This machine was in such bad shape I've decided to use kerosene to clean the entire machine inside and out. The kerosene is working nicely with no harm to the machine.

I didn't notice in the auction photos that the take up lever was broken off and missing. The bobbin slide plate is missing. The belt guard was broken in shipping.
